SONY NW-ZX2
Wow, that's really crap. There have been some unboxed ZX2's on Ebay and Amazon. I'm always a bit suspicious when they are advertised unboxed and by someone who doesn't really seem to know anything about the player.- primalscream

SONY NW-ZX100
Thanks for the pics, I appreciate you taking the time to do that. Fortunately I had already disabled the enhancements in the way you describe. I thought maybe you were referring to another way, similar to the ZX2, in which a complete override is done.- primalscream

SONY NW-ZX100
I gave it over 100 hours of burn-in before judging it. As for the sound enhancements, I didn't think they could be disabled on the ZX100.- primalscream

SONY NW-ZX100
I did get to try the ZX2 for a couple of weeks over the summer. Liked it a lot but, as I say, I had high hopes for the ZX100 so I waited until it came out. Definitely going to go back to the ZX2, just waiting to find a Japanese model without the volume limit.- primalscream

SONY NW-ZX100
Sent mine back to Amazon. Not all that impressed even though I had very high hopes that this model might be the natural successor to the NW-HD5. Using IE800 the sound is a cross between ZX1 and ZX2 but minus the 'magic' of either machine. I found the ZX1 to be slightly fatiguing although it...- primalscream

SONY NW-ZX100
Just a heads-up that Amazon UK are currently selling the ZX100 at £432. Just ordered one, couldn't resist at this price along with the return option.- primalscream

The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Fair enough but doesn't change the fact that at a pre-purchase stage it's noteworthy that the DX50 is naturally the brighter sounding of the two players.- primalscream

The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
1) DX50 has stunning clarity but this comes with possible listening fatuige and it perhaps lacks the musicality of the X3, which itself is a much smoother listen but does not have the same wow factor. 2) Yes, it will no longer randomly damage your hearing. 3) I tried the E11 with the...- primalscream

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Absolutely astonishing that this has not been fixed. People at Fiio must realise that it is a massive ballache to scroll right through again. I only recently bought the X3 and have been assuming that this will be fixed in the much-vaunted FW3.0 I have been using a Sony NW-HD5 for nearly...- primalscream

The Fiio X3 Thread.
Am I right in thinking that if you go 'backwards' from the Now Playing screen into the main menus then you have to negotiate from scratch to find the album again? If so, I thought this was a massive flaw that needed addressing?- primalscream
