Earbuds Round-Up
Thanks! Yeah from everything I've been reading on this thread I had a feeling the BS1 would be one for me to try. Time to start saving for it!- plumpjack

Earbuds Round-Up
LOL. Sorry! It could be that new toy infatuation thing going on. I love my BK's as well and still prefer them overall, but the Vido headphones have a quality about them I just wasn't expecting for the price. Plus I'm trying to introduce my older kids to the idea that music can sound different...- plumpjack

Earbuds Round-Up
I'm late to reply to this...and still a newbie so forgive this if it's a dumb reply, but have you considered a Lightning DAC for your iPhone? I use a Blucoil Aqua which draws power from the lightning port and thus is pretty small. It uses Wolfson DACs versus Cirrus Logic in the iPhone so has a...- plumpjack

Earbuds Round-Up
This is old news to you guys in the group, but new to me. My Vido's arrived a week ago and I've been in cheap earbud audio bliss ever since. This has to be more than just new gear excitement, right? These things are so good I haven't listened to my Shozy BK's since I got them... Using the...- plumpjack

Desert Island DAP Earbud/headphone/IEM combo
Swapping my earbud choice to the Vido earbuds. They just arrived a week ago and I'm completely in love. $1 cheaper than the Monks puts the rig at $54 for something I could enjoy for quite while. Now that stops to make you think.- plumpjack

Desert Island DAP Earbud/headphone/IEM combo
Here's the rig I have for my seven year old, who thus far is the most likely to take up the audiophile hobby. He seems to gravitate to my better gear while his older siblings are content to put potato quality headphones on so long as they look good. DAP: iPhone 4S 64gb. Decent user interface...- plumpjack

Desert Island DAP Earbud/headphone/IEM combo
Happy New Year! It is 2018 and you must choose 1 system to listen to music on for the rest of your days. DAP, cellphone, whatever, and 1 set of earbuds, headphones, or IEMs. What's the least expensive kit that will make you happy for your remaining days? Just how cheap can this hobby get and...- plumpjack

Sony MDR ZX 110! Really good budget phones!
I bought theseMDRZX110 for my kids as a throwaway headset since they are young and are a bit rough on gear... now I have a pair too. Not the most compact, perhaps not the most sound-isolating, and I know there are better headphones out there, but for $15 they are darn hard to beat!- plumpjack

I'm just curious... how do I get my "About author" info to show up? I see lots of users listing their gear/music prefs, etc. below their posts but I'm not certain how to do this? I put some stuff in there but it doesn't seem to show up. Thanks!- plumpjack

iPhone 8: Better sound quality vs iPhone 7 or 6!?
I purchased a Blucoil DAC and the differences between the Apple unit ($9) and this one ($60) are subtle at best. I want to try the Dragonfly's next but the inexpensive Apple adapter is not bad.- plumpjack

Thank you for the info seanc6441! Any recommendations of better foams then? I don't want to baby the Shozy's but don't have enough knowledge of the subject to has a good backup set of foams other than the Heigis.- plumpjack

I just got some HieGi donuts and am going to try these on the various buds I have to see the difference. I just wish Shozy had included a few extra foams in the pack... I'm hesitant to remove them!- plumpjack

I had a Sansui as well! Stupidest thing I've ever done was to give it away when I was in my 20's because I wanted a digital tuner and didn't know any better. Sigh.- plumpjack
