Markings on 325i
Mine is 1697 (and rather unprofessionally scratched on!) -- as the box has the same number written on it, I suppose it's most likely the serial number?- plato

Headphones that don't muss up hair?
I used to have a lot of problem with "headphone hair", but a few months ago I discovered a solution which works very well for me -- I wear the headband forward so that it rests on my forehead. (I only do this at home or in familiar company because it does look a bit weird.) I think this...- plato

Replacement for Sony EX71
Hi LFC_SL If you are thinking of giving the EX71 "one more chance" you would do better to get the RP-HJE50 which sounds better, is better built and costs less! The other "EX71 class" phones to consider would be the Sharp MD-33 which are deemed to be better. Unfortunately I haven't heard...- plato

Cheap...Isolating?
I agree with the 2 previous posts. But if you are keen on the likes of the EX51, I would recommend the HJE50 over the EX51 anytime -- better sounding, better built AND cheaper. And I personally find it just as comfortable. Just may be harder to find. Cheers- plato

Canal tips for my HJe50
Hi jirou The tips for the HJE50 and EX-71 are identical in size. Btw, I find that I can get a proper seal with the medium and even the big tips without pushing them too far in -- just enough to feel the isolation and the "thud" when I tap on them with my fingers. And as Jmmmmm said, you...- plato

Sound isolating earmuffs for Audio Technica CM7's?
Hi I think that unfortunately there will be a problem using earmuffs with the CM7 and CM5 because of their "stick" design. Apart from the possibly reduced isolation where the "stick" part of the phones protude from the earmuffs, the position of the phones will be affected. I've found that the...- plato

Philips HP890 -> Etymotic ER-6i - upgrade in sound quality ?
Hi Since nobody has replied allow me to offer my lightweight comments, FWIW. I have the HP890 and ER-4S. I haven't heard the ER-6i, but I'm very sure from comments about it that I will not find the bass as satisfying as that from the HP890. I suspect the soundstage loses out to the HP890...- plato

microphonics in md33 and hj350 and canalphones in general
I find the microphonics for my HJE50 (and Sony EX71) negligible -- I don't notice it unless I'm deliberately looking out for it (like knocking the cables to see if I can hear anything). I wouldn't worry about it. Microphonics with the Ety ER4S is a different matter, but ever since I came across...- plato
