emu 0404 and extra headphone amp
Hi, I have not been active on the forum for a loooong time. Being happy listening to my rig (actually speakers) with no upgrade, can you believe it? I'm considering buying an e-mu 0404 for office use. That would be plugged to a Corda HA1 amp and either an AKG 240S or a HD600. However I...- Pierre Lambion

Windows XP? Linux Fedora?
I'm a bit confused here. You said you want to setup a server. If so, you should not bother about office/productivity suite, right? If you only need the server functionality, I would love to recommend linux. However, as you have no previous experience of it, I have to advice staying away. It...- Pierre Lambion

problem in windows xp
If I understand right, windows reboots 'spontaneously' after a few seconds of uptime? Probably with some warning. If so, it's probably the effect of an attack on its RPC stack. It is a long known weakness but it's easy to fix, either through service packs or through a firewall. The quick...- Pierre Lambion

Please recommend a Grateful Dead show
Hi there, I thought that instead of downloading yet another Phish show from gdlive (shn), I could start with some Grateful Dead stuff. I don't have anything yet from GD; so what would you recommend for a first taste (what year, recent or old, or even a specific show). Here is the current...- Pierre Lambion

General orientation advice for digital camera
Damn it! More temptation! Is a zoom (optical) above x3 really usefull without a support (tripod?). I have not that a steady hand and will not walk around with a tripod! P.- Pierre Lambion

General orientation advice for digital camera
Thanks for the many answers! I will focus on the Ixus, Dimage and Coolpix and try to test them as much as possible. I aggree 100% that ergonomy is more important than raw features/performance. It is nice that dpreview gives detailed speed indication as this is also a concern (how fast you...- Pierre Lambion

General orientation advice for digital camera
Thx for the hint. I'm in Europe, so not much of a possibility to me. But I take notice of the accumulating cost of accessories. By the way, I would prefer a camera using normal AA batteries rather than slim ones. Of course this will enlarge the size but I'm willing to accept it. P.- Pierre Lambion

General orientation advice for digital camera
Hi everyone, I will finally get my first digital camera. My old very cheap and basic APS camera is almost not used but a second kid comming this spring is a good motivation! I want to keep it cheap (around $300-$400) and I'm unsure about what kind of camera to go for: A/ very slim 4megs...- Pierre Lambion

Who Vs. Led Zeppelin
In my opinion too, the Who wins on the originality side. They invented the rock opera and the sound wall. They have bizarre but intricate lyrics where Led Zeppeling, imho, have teenage fantasy inspiration. Once again, Led Zeppelin had such an attitude I cannot approve. They just ripped-off...- Pierre Lambion

Who Vs. Led Zeppelin
I voted for the Who. I think they are more creative. And Led Zep ripped too much of Muddy Waters work without any acknowledgement. P.- Pierre Lambion

The best CDP for about 600 euro?
Sorry, I did not listen to the Atoll CD100. I was starting with a EUR500 budget in mind! It can be wise to go has high as you can in your buy in order to avoid the cost of small jumps. P.- Pierre Lambion
