Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread
I personally use balanced output when listening with my HD800, and I subjectively feel more "dynamic", more "room", "space", "air" (...you name it) when operating these headphones in balanced mode, compared to single ended (asymmetric) operation. However, I do believe that it is particularly...- PerfectHiFi

Sennheiser HD 630VB Review - First Impressions
LOL, great equations and PERFECT sense of humor! However, I would probably need more than 50 VB cans until sufficiently biased, ready to spend 500 bucks on a headphone cable, unless it is made of 100% Gold or Platinum! Cheers!- PerfectHiFi

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
If you are a "basshead", why not try the affortable (I did not say cheap ) Beats Solo2 (on ear type)? If you prefer well balanced clean bass, you must not miss to try the PM-3! Gorgeous bass and warm mids. Model HD630 might sound "boomy", is heavy (for home use only) and quite expensive IMO...- PerfectHiFi

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
You will be very happy with this pair. The PM-3 sounds already very good with iPhone/iPad/iPod, but it sounds absolutely GREAT on the HA-2, when using digital connection (USB) port. I tested the pair (FLAC format) with Eric Clapton's Unplugged (Acoustic guitar and male voice), Diana Krall's Love...- PerfectHiFi

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
...so, would you agree to my statement that "burn-in" is a "brain-matter" and has nothing to do with technical changes on specifications on the "device under test"? I mean, "burn-in" for a few hours or days, I am not talking about "aging" over years.- PerfectHiFi

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Thanks for your reply! Your experience sounds "mystic" for me. It would be very interesting to see from Tyll's or Hans030390 measurements, if these would show a difference in frequency response after several hours of "burn-in". Anyway, good to hear that you like and enjoy these cans more every...- PerfectHiFi

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Hi BrianJohnes, Check out Tyll's frequency response curves and compare HD 25 vs. PM-3. You will immediately see, that the HD 25 shows kind of a "V-curve" with a drop of up to 10 dB in the 400...500 Hz region. Compared to curve of the PM-3 (that shows an almost flat response up to 1'000 Hz)...- PerfectHiFi

Again a great revew from you, thank you! I would not be suprised if these cans will end up at Tylls Wall of Fame. Unfortunately, the black models are currently sold out already. I'll definetly order a pair, very competively priced compared to HD6xx series.- PerfectHiFi

Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread
Sorry about the confusion I may have caused! I really mean the digital AES/EBU input. I just name the big 3-pin connectors XLR. But I did NOT mean the analog inputs. I tested with the same digital signal on coax input and AES/EBU input, using an appropriate cable and a Behringer SRC 2496, that...- PerfectHiFi

Oppo HA-1 Impressions Thread
Has anyone of you HA-1 users ever tested the AES/EBU input? My coax and optical inputs work fine, XLR digital input seems to not working... Anyone else who has problems with AES/EBU? According to Oppo support, XLR digital input accepts the same data format as coaxial input... Any help is highly...- PerfectHiFi

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Has anyone in this forum compared model PM-3 and Solo 2? Frequency response curve from Hans030390 appears to be similar. Regarding wearing comfort: Solo 2 in my personal opinion has a high ear pressure (clamping force) and I get hot ears and discomfort after about an hour of wearing. How is the...- PerfectHiFi
