    R.I.P. Dr. Amar Bose

Bose did a lot for bringing attention to better quality audio. Their products are generally heavy on marketing, over-hyped and over priced, but every product I've had interaction with was decent. Their noise cancelling is very well done, if you like that sort of thing. In college I had to take a...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Then you should be happy with any old pair of $30 headphones. Beats Solos sound like cheap headphones. If you want to pay a lot more for trendy cheap headphones, that's cool.

    post your grado mods....

L Cush here. I honestly don't hear that much difference between the L Cush and Senns with the Quarter mod. A little more space, but its a subtle difference. I like the comfort of the L Cush a lot more the flat pads irritate my ears after a while.

    Grado modders go Magnum

I wouldn't call the bass in mine "punchy", but it is deep. I have Mahogany cups from Martin, drivers held in with the tacky stuff from dynamat.

Very nice GermanGuy. I love the bubbled out screen.

The Official Grado 325i Owners Club.

I love my 325is, but who knows, they probably are inferior to many other phones. That's ok, I'm very happy with what I have. For me, once you get to a certain level with headphones, its hard to call some inferior or superior to others. They just each have their differences. A lot of people's...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote:   I have no problem with it either - that was the reason for my initial interest in Beats. My Grados are a bit ridiculous as well - and not exactly portable. But when the stylish headphones are marketed at top-tier audiophile quality and priced as such, I expect them to sound good too.

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote: Quite a bit - a few Sonys, Sennheisers, Grados, Koss. The Bose display is right next to the Beats display at Best Buy. I cant imagine why you wouldn't pick Bose over Beats and Bose is infamous for being overpriced. I'm really not a fan of the over-rated Koss Portapros, but I would...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote: The demo at Staples let you plug in your own source. The Solos were still the worst headphones I've ever heard over $30. I found the Pros to be actually enjoyable, but still less than anything else in their price range.

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote: Who knows, but I don't think so. I really wanted to like Beats. I thought it was cool to see some attention being given to making quality headphones that look good too. I listened to them at a demo and was sorely disappointed. I thought something was wrong with the demo. I checked...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote: Exactly this. I've known 2 beats owners. They wanted new headphones and assumed from all the ads that Beats were the best. The high price point kind of confirms that - you get what you pay for, right? One of them replaced his Bose phones with Beats. Most consumers don't want to spend...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote: If they prefer the sig of beats, they should just get some $20 Sonys. Crappy, muddy bass and no detail is easy to find in lots of budget headphones. Its not like Beats have some kind of unique sound signature that has never been achieved before. The pros aren't too bad, but again...

The Official Grado 325i Owners Club.

Quote: I don't think people are making things up. There's likely a lot of things going on. I believe some of it is source equipment and/or file format/quality. The 325is are not forgiving of bad source files.  Some of it may be that some genres of music respond better on different phones...

    Grado modders go Magnum

Quote: I don't really believe in burn-in either, but I do remember when I first listened to my Magnum drivers, I was disappointed with the bass response and thought they sounded really thin. Now, when I compare them to my Grado 325is, I hear deep satisfying bass. I don't know if the phones...
