Grado 225 and hotusb1 combo - looking for comments
Hi Thank you for the feedback. You said you would go for the amp higher end amp, what do you think will make it sound better? In other words what gives it that extra kick that is worth paying for more? I really appreciate the comments. Thanks.- metal_monger

Grado 225 and hotusb1 combo - looking for comments
Hi Guys, I am debating running with this setup of a Grado 225 paired with a HOTUSB1 amp. I have often heard that Grado's dont typically need an amp. I have also read the reviews for the HOTUSB1 and they seem quite favorable. I love the Grado sound and am wondering how well these two will...- metal_monger

woodied grado cans
Hi guys. Been off the site for a while but getting back into things. I remeber there being a website for a company or person that does modifications to grado's where he will recable and or will install wood onto the plastic holder. Could anyone provide me a link to that? Thanks =)- metal_monger

Trying out the SR-225 -- advice please!
I have had the grado 225's and I now own the 325's. I have used both the stock pads and the senn modded pads, and honestly the differrence is not that huge. It is noticeable, but not a deal breaker imo. If you want to think logically (cost effective) dont get rid of your 225's, there are...- metal_monger

Grado SR-125 impulse buy
I think just about every model of the grado line has its share of lovers and haters. The price which you paid for them is pretty darn good. I would say listen to them as much as you can then decide whether or not to return them.- metal_monger

Would a 12 year old be able to use canalphones?
I would say not just due to the fact that they can damage their ears if they are not responsible with the volume. Depends on the child tho I guess if he is cautious then maybe, but if I had a kid I would not let him use canal phones.- metal_monger

So i want to buy the Sennheiser 280Pro's...
the truth of the matter is that the 280's do sound pretty good, esp considering their cost. they are extremely comfortable and i can wear mine for 4hours or so at a time. they sound pretty good for rock and death metal. you may want to get a chaintech av-710 sound card, i used to run that...- metal_monger

sennheiser px 200 or 280?
by far the 280 > 200. The 280's are a bit bulky so they dont make for the most ideal portable cans in the sense of looks. They do isolate and sound great tho. Yes I own both of these cans.- metal_monger

Everything but sound Shure e5 vs ety 4p
I realize alot of you are passionate suppoters of your headphones and I respect that. The purpose of this post is to try and seperate the benefits and negatives of the Ety 4p versus the Shure e5 - all aspects except sound. This is just my run down and I post this information because I would have...- metal_monger

Shure E5, very disappointed.
"I also think the detail of the E5 could be better" I have also owned the Ety 4p and I disagree with you. I think the Shure's are pretty good on the detail factor, from what I remeber of my Ety 4p they are on the same level. The Shures definately have more bass then the Ety's. I like my...- metal_monger

poll:volume question on shure e5+ipod
Now that I have had more time to play with my Shure e5........I noticed something else =) With most of my mp3's I tend to use volume 1 on my ipod. This is straight to a ipod (no amp - and no eq settings on ipod). SO the questoin is this: at what volume do you use your ipod and shure e5.?- metal_monger

Shure E5c question
I had forgotten to move that. I movedthat up some and noticed a improvement on the microphonics. What are IEM? In Ear XXX? I have used the Ety 4p and those had much more microphonics if that is what you mean.- metal_monger

Shure E5c question
The Shure sound is really starting to grow on me and the comfort seems good so far. Just wish the microphonics where none existent everytime i move my head I feel the tugging. Does anyone have some suggestions (other then wearing them inside your shirt) to lower the microphonics effect on...- metal_monger
