Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
Thank you for such a thorough reply. I've been trying to just suck it up and grab one since I've seen comments vary from being along the same lines as yours to stating that the differences are indeed noticeable and pronounced. At the end of the day, maybe the cost difference just isn't worth the...- joejoejoe

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
I've been reading this thread on and off since its inception and I still can't decide on whether or not to upgrade to the Mimby from a Modi 2U. Anyone wanna persuade me? Any specific reason to save for the Bimby instead or even something non-Schiity?- joejoejoe

*Official Schiit Magni/Modi 2 ( Uber ) Thread*
hey all, a question regarding a setup involving the m2u stack, a computer, headphones, powered speakers, and now a turntable. what do i need to add to allow the turntable to be connected to the stack, a SYS? i haven't seen a picture anywhere of how everything actually connects with this...- joejoejoe

Sonarworks Headphone Calibration software
absolutely love this plugin but the saving default profiles and being able to remove profiles needs some work or some documentation on how to clean them up. i've got 3 random Default profiles along with the one profile I've tweaked and set, which I have to manually select and tweak each time I...- joejoejoe

I stand corrected! Good to hear. More than likely still going to do the cork mod on them, but I'll take whatever treble smoothing I can get. Currently I am not 100% set on keeping them.- joejoejoe

That would be great, thanks. Are you using the HD800 as stock or with any mods/equalizer? I wouldn't expect Mimby to do too much for the brightness/sharpness I still feel, but I could be wrong.- joejoejoe

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit
Good question. More than likely the Valhalla 2 or the Lyr 2. I need to do some more research and see which would be the better fit. I'm already indecisive enough about a DAC, let alone a new amp. I may have a bigger issue though, as I am a very new HD800 owner and am still adjusting to...- joejoejoe

I've been reading this thread for some time now trying to convince myself the Mimby is worth the upgrade from the Modi 2U 4490 version, and I think I'm finally convinced to go for it. Should be able to get decent value for the Modi. That said, I also think I've been convinced to upgrade the...- joejoejoe

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Had my left channel go out due to an issue with the cable. Any recommendation as to what cable I should replace it with? I'm already missing these and it's only been a couple hours.- joejoejoe

Upgrading Logitech Z-2300s - What To Choose?
Quote: I am not opposed to this. I'd just like a solid product preferably in the price range I gave that I will notice significant improvement over the Z-2300s with, and is compatible with my Essence ST.- joejoejoe

Upgrading Logitech Z-2300s - What To Choose?
Hey everyone, Right now I am using a pair of 2.1 Logitech Z-2300 speakers to listen to music/movies on my computer through an Asus Xonar Essence ST with modded op amps. I use a set of Sennheiser HD600s when I use headphones and they sound fantastic to me, but I'm looking for a replacement...- joejoejoe

The Xonar Essence STX Q/A, tweaking, impressions thread
Just replaced the 2 stock op amps on the Asus Essence ST with two LME49720NA's. I like what I hear. I got a message on another forum from a guy saying he could build me a pair of LME49720HA - metal can op amps, and that they are "high grade adapters with gold plated pins and tracings...- joejoejoe

What To Upgrade, And In What Order?
Ended up going with the Asus Essence ST. Currently taking some time getting used to the new sound, as it is significantly different from the Creative X-FI XtremeMusic. It seems to have greater clarity, at times maybe a bit too bright, and the bass is rather subdued. That's through RCA...- joejoejoe
