I picked up a pair of ProAlpha on the strength of this thread.  After a week, the cables are still attached but the left earpiece has come apart and is only being held together by the internal wires.   Just FYI to anyone else that google brings here.

A while ago I read about marshmallows here, so while my vibes are OTS, I was rather pleased to get some from Currys for £15. So I was somewhat chastened to see them at a big Tescos today for £7.49. They are a decent set of head phones (a little too big for my ears) and astounding at that price...

Plugging/unplugging: I have an easel case, so need to unplug-plug if I sit to watch a movie. I also turn off my pod when i reach my office by briefly removing and re-inserting the the plug. have to see how i can adjust my behaviours if the plug is resistant.... when/if it arrives.
