Was searching around but found little on this: how would DT150 pair with udac 2?

I've seen (not here) that some now consider the SE425 obsolete.  What would be some more contemporary alternatives with a similar sound signature?  Just curious, not necessarily looking to buy.

That's what I see most people writing, and several reviews emphasize their 'smoothness.'  Yet, there are some who mention sibilance or 'harshness.'  Could this perhaps be a quality control issue?

I'm considering them, but sibilance would be a dealbreaker for me.   What genres and formats did you listen to?

OK.  These seem to go for ~$360 here, that's a bit above what I'd like to spend (and the price of the cheapest locally made customs, no idea if those are any good though).
