The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.
I finally got a pair of these having heard my friend's pair I bought for him a couple years ago recently and having been impressed by them even in comparison to Beyer's dt770 and Senn HD600. Balanced, full sound. For $2x dollars, I almost feel like I should make a charitable donation somewhere...- guttorm

Pioneer SE-A1000 (Sennheiser HD 650 for $45?)
Got mine in. They sound great! Bass seems a bit unwoollied after a few hrs of play. JVC S400 on way to compare them to.- guttorm

Ordered a pair up here to Juneau, haven't arrived yet. I'm expecting them to be more balanced than my DT770s.- guttorm

Closed, Over ear, Great Isolation and Portability Sub $100 as gift, Options?
I've owned both at the same time and preferred the hd280. The clamping force of the v6 was too much for my larger than average head and I agree that they were trebly. I remember the sound of the 280s as being pretty faultless.- guttorm

Your first headphones?
a full-size pair of aiwas. I think they were called "xp-222" or something like that. I gave them to my older brother and he used them beyond pad extinction before getting some audio technica ath-anc7's (on my advice). My first headphones after coming here were the koss ksc-35's- guttorm

AT A700 vs. Alessandro MS-1 vs. Koss A/250 vs. Koss A/130
ms-1=a/250>a/130>a700. I just recently reacquired some ms-1s after having owned them for about a week before they were stolen and man they are so good imo. Treble detail? YEESSSS. These are all good headphones... surprised I'm not liking the a700s in comparison to the rest right now. Switching...- guttorm

I got a pair of these from a music shop here in Juneau. They had two headphones: these and the equation audio rp-21s. I'd heard tons about the rp-21s and wanted to get them but they would...not...let me! they went on and on about how good the 681s were and set me up with a pair at a really fancy...- guttorm

old-school computer speakers question
This is kind of off the wall, but my brother and I were looking for the name of a one-piece, under-the-monitor computer speaker setup we used to have. Had to have been altec-lansing, logitech or creative I'm sure. They weren't anything fancy. Anyone recall what these might have been offhand...- guttorm
