Feedback by 'grignr' on listing 'Meze Empyrean Phoenix Limited Edition'
The headphones arrived quickly and were exactly as described, and were even in the original shipping box. I'm happy with the sale and would do business with Missha1981 again- grignr

Official Unofficial 8XX Discussion Thread - UPDATE SENNHEISER HAS BEEN SOLD!!! GT(heck)IH
I preordered awhile back (got a sub-100 model number!) and didn't follow any of the online drama. The happy upshot is I've been listening to my pair over the last day and have opinions are totally unbiased by the specs that I haven't seen yet :) After an evening and morning of listening and A/B...- grignr

What happened to Grado's reputation?
Quote: I've got no firsthand experience with the PS1000s, but I do have an HF2 and a half-modicum of brains. (Well, plus or minus a half-modicum, anyway.) So I'm interested in this claim -- what modding would a HF2 need to be more PS1000-like?- grignr

They're back - The HF-2 now available again!
Todd's website says that it's in its "final run", so presumably once he has that final batch he'll know what the number is. Has anyone asked? :)- grignr

They're back - The HF-2 now available again!
Just out of curiosity -- where is that second 500 number coming from? Is that an official number, or speculation? I hadn't heard that before. Quote:- grignr

They're back - The HF-2 now available again!
Well. I've been a member of head-fi for years (HF-1 #251, with ~1000 hours of happy listening) but hadn't logged in over the last year... so I, for one, am glad they're still (barely) available. If people feel unhappy that they're still available new because they were hoping to sell...- grignr

1GB Flash-based players
I've been using an iAudio5 daily for about 6 months now and am pretty happy with it. It has a few shortcomings but on the whole I'd recommend it. I notice two of my complaints (poor navigation and short battery life) would be fixed with the G3... Positives: * Very good sound quality * Very...- grignr

Favorite pads for your HF-1s?
IMO the stock bowls sound best but they hurt my ears so freakin' much that I suspect Grado is kept solvent by masochists. I'm currently using Tod's flats for the sole reason that they hurt the least of the three pads I've tried. I wish I could figure out a way to mod my HF-1's or HD25's to...- grignr

Good, inexpensive starter DAP for kids?
I'm looking for hf'er opinions on what would make nice Xmas starter DAPs for my two daughters (10 and 11). They're not head-fi'ers (thank God!) and would be happy with anything, so I'm looking less for a high-end system than I am something that's: * inexpensive * easy to use * can take a...- grignr

Please comments for HF-1 (with Shortest)
clear, full, bright. good bass. warmer after burn-in. the stock foam *really* hurts. (How on earth does Grado stay in business selling headphones that hurt? They sound fantastic -- I've been giving them about 4 hours' use a day -- but bought new pads from TTVJ on the second day.) And, of...- grignr
