#10 (en480c4) The most musical of the Prestige Series with a decent bass, warm and full midrange and smooth treble.

#16 (Salt Peanuts) Light as a feather. Good out of box and a great deal.

#21 (Wmcmanus) Part plastic, part wood. Looks craptastic, sounds good

#47 (jerb) feels cheap, sounds good. less bass than dt770 but better quality. I dont like them.

#62 (Overlunge) Mono (Returned for repair, yet to receive it back from Grado)

#76 (infinitefurby) reporting for duty...crappy out of the box, better immensely with burn-in, not boomy, very full dynamic sound, comfy for me but not the most solidly built cans i'm afraid

#88 (kramer5150) Looks like a $25 pile of cheap plastic/vinyl. Sounds like a $300-$350 piece if audiophile gear. Guitar Heaven!!

#99 (nabwong) Best pair of grados after the Rs2

#116 (mjg) good

#124 (budley007) SR225+

#125 (fante7) SOLD!

#125 (hungrych) BOUGHT!

#167 (VR6ofpain) Wonderful sound, my new reference.

#184 (wolfen68) my cherished 225's will only be missed during times of irrational nostalgia.

#186 (Roblin) Exciting musicality, burn-in a must - including the pads! sound improves greatly with time

#251 (grignr) clear, full, bright. good bass. warmer after burn-in. the stock foam *really* hurts.

#254 (DJGeorgeT) get the SR60 instead and save money for ramen noodles

#256 (munkong) Full sound, rich, sweet high, but a bit boomy bass

#258 (rodentdog) not boomy The treble is smoother not as "bright" as the 125's

#280 (ScubaS87) teveGreat bass, bright forward highs out of the box, sound warms up and comes together after some burn in (currently on about 100 hours)

*note* I still loving HF-1 forever

Hi--I have HF-1 #258, HA!!! Listening to them right now! I have several sets of cans. These are better than my Grado SR-125 cans. More bass, not boomy. Don't have too many hours on these though. The treble is smoother not as "bright" as the 125's. If you're not happy with them, I'll take them off your hands, just kidding

That made me laugh for some reason.

(How on earth does Grado stay in business selling headphones that hurt?
They sound fantastic -- I've been giving them about 4 hours' use a day --
but bought new pads from TTVJ on the second day.)

And, of course, I'd've liked them better if they were #256 instead of #251.

The bowl pads eventually breaks-in and gets softer after some use. I used to able to use my MSPro's or SR-80's with bowls for two hours or so with no issues.
