(MX 500's vs. KSC-35's) vs. Grado 60's
I had the SR-60's for a while, and never really warmed up to them. The mid-bass was punchy and nice, but they were never as fun to listen to as my PortaPros... I ended up selling them, and keeping the portapros. Also, for long term listening, the grado's killed my ears (this seems to be a...- geek42

Problems with AV-710, Foobar2000, and kernel streaming
I had the same problem. For me, though, it's not a bug, it's a feature - i hated all those damn sounds, so i turned them off. If you want to keep them the easiest thing to do is route windows sound through your old sound card/built-in (you did have sound before the AV-710 right?), and...- geek42

Support for Chaintech AV-710 in Linux?
I've been wanting to move to Linux for my primary desktop (i'm using it at work, and have gotten accustomed to the way things work, and that they work). The only thing holding me back is playing music through my computer... Anybody know if there's support for the AV-710 in hi-rez mode? If I...- geek42

Head-Fi Folding@Home: Join the team!
I wonder if we could get mods to put a message for all who see - even those who don't go into the members lounge, as I'm sure many do not... The amount of untapped potential... btw - anybody know if there is performance to be gained by going with the console client instead of the graphical...- geek42

Ripping CD's Real Time....Best Method?
If you're running windows you can keep the computer from locking up by holding down the shift key when you insert the disc. As so ripping, a lot depends on the CD-ROM drive you've got. Different CD-ROM drives are better/worse at reading damaged discs. I've had good luck with Lite-On's, but a lot...- geek42

Just wanted to verify - to join the team all i need to do is put in the team number in the configuration, correct? If so, you've got an Athlon 1.3 and a Centrino 1.2 chugging away. Also, I completed a few work units before joining the team. Do those transfer over?- geek42

Senneiser MX550?
Looks like the 550's and 450's have 16ohm resistance, as opposed to 32 ohm for the 500's and 400's. The only other data posted for the 550's of note is that both they and the 500's have '123dB(SPL) / 1mW'. I have no idea what that means, though ... any experts that can chime in?- geek42
