RCA Attenuators - Any Thoughts?
If you are looking for attenuators go for Goldenjacks. Much nicer then the Rothwells, less impact on the sound, and they sell for less. Plus you can get them in a variety of attenuations. This is from someone who has used Rothwell, Goldenjacks, and Harrison Labs in his various systems.- Gaara

Yet another (very specific) request for analog IC recommendation!
I thought silver was thought to be brighter then copper? Go get some 89259 it is supposed to be a warmer sounding cable without losing detail. If you want Signal Cable then Frank's Analog IIs use 89259. -
Gauge Limit for Speaker Wire? (for a given reciever)
Problems I can see: If you are using bare wire you will have a hell of a time making ~11 gauge fit. If you are using connectors some don't accept over 12 gauge. Doesn't this design cause some amps to oscillate, especially using thicker variants? I hope your speakers aren't a hard load...- Gaara

Suggestions on first 2 channel system
What made you decide on the A21? What do you consider affordable? For power conditioning this PureAv unit is pretty nice, I bought two and they are great for $55. I like PS Audios units alot, but a Quientet will be closer to 10x the price of the PureAv. As for cables I will throw down my... -
Help w/ Lite DAC-AH
10 DB attenuators should cut it from 6v to 3v. Rothwell makes some nice ones, so does Goldenjacks.- Gaara

DAC power supply upgrade, or digital mod on SB3?
In my rig I heard a difference with the smaller Elpac using the digital out. Moving up to the larger Elpac and a custom PSU I didn't hear any improvements. If it was me I would look into a new PSU on the DAC.- Gaara

DAC power supply upgrade, or digital mod on SB3?
I've tried the digital mod and it made a difference, but the difference was slight. It was a Enthusiast modded unit w/Gold Bybee into a modded MHDT Paradisea. IMO not worth it for the money. Maybe the difference is more noticeable with a nicer DAC but I wouldn't think it would be worth it until...- Gaara

USB Dac noisy? Try this...!!!
One strange thing that I noticed using a USB Dac is that even using a USB device like a mouse adds noise. When I move the mouse around i can hear a little bit of staticy noise that is reproduced through my system. It isn't loud and is only noticeable if I listen for it with nothing else playing...- Gaara

best interconnect for the bang? (better than bluejean)
OP if you are still reading this the best bang for your buck are the cables that come in the box. By definition nothing will beat them in the price/performance ratio as they are free. In this same line of thought the best aftermarket ones would probably be something like monoprice. You can get a...- Gaara

cutoff frequency? what does it do
That depends on how steep the curve is, but generally no most are gentle slopes not brickwalls. A brickwall filter is one that cuts off the sound completly, where most roll them off slowly. It should give a specific frequency and slope in the manual (eg 12db/octve). The higher the db drop per...- Gaara

Freedom of Information...
