Gauge Limit for Speaker Wire? (for a given reciever)

Well, in then end, it's all about piece-of-mind right?

Nothing says "quality" like blistered fingers and an empty wallet.

Problems I can see:

If you are using bare wire you will have a hell of a time making ~11 gauge fit.

If you are using connectors some don't accept over 12 gauge.

Doesn't this design cause some amps to oscillate, especially using thicker variants? I hope your speakers aren't a hard load to handle.

In the end, I was able to fit the wires easily into 12gauge banana clips (but only just...) My speakers are 6ohm and I am using two 150watt Monoblock amps to drive them. Hopefully I won't have any problems down the road. Oh, and they sound great! Still breaking them in, but I like what I hear so far.

Thanks again all for the input.

Nice! I'd love to see some pictures if you have the chance.
