I tend to think that the 1950s is more versatile, given its more neutral presentation? Just my view.

From what I know from Peter directly, different insulation and structure inside, hence the different tuning.

The structure (and obviously the insulation) of the cables are different from what I understand, hence the difference in tuning.

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

According to the source (which is the dealer in HK), it is the successor of the LX and will have 11 drivers (4 e-stats, 5BAs, and 2 DDs).

The cables debate will never end. From my point of view, cables do make a difference. Scientific proof? To be defined (conductivity, noise, etc, I'm not a physician by training but I trust my ears) Is the price proportional to the difference they produce? Depending on how you value that final...

I have both the Phantom and Katana. They are indeed pretty different but both have emphasis in the mid range (broadly speaking), but in a very different way IMO. Phantom is famous for its lush thick warm mids, while Katana focuses on clarity and forwardness. At first I did find Phantom veiled...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

It is a matter of perception and preference and there is no point in seeking a proof as such, as there is no right or wrong answer. How much money a person is willing to invest in cables is entirely a personal choice, and I don't see the point in challenging that.
