Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
I‘ve been using the B3 for about 4 years now. Sound aside, it is just beautiful and sturdy, I only changed the cable for 4.4mm termination. In terms of sound, it’s more of a generalist that plays well with all types of genres. Its tuning gears toward relaxing/balanced without any annoying peaks...- Forever8895

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
You’ll have to try it out yourself :D according to the mod’s info: Plus v1" - a different flavor of the normal chosen sound signature; "Plus v2" - usually better than the Plus v1 mode, and it also consumes less battery; "Normal" - provides the normal chosen sound signature; So it may sound...- Forever8895

This happens with Plus mode turned on. Simply turn off plus mode (I use hold button) and there shouldn’t be any issue with the BT receiver- Forever8895

awesome, thanks for the info! What about swapping the cable to utilize the 4.4mm balance output from the 1A? Or do you think the neutral tonality of 1A doesn’t go well with FW10000‘s bright signature?- Forever8895

Hi all, first time poster but long time lurker in this thread. I would like to ask for your opinion on the JVC/Victor HA-FW10000 here as it seems to get some recognition in this space. I had my mind set on a different (multi-driver) IEM, but was presented a chance to buy a brand-new FW10000 -...- Forever8895

CIEM wearing comfort question
Thanks for the link, that's very helpful! Will slowly read through this for the next couple days Yeah, the "fit like gloves" part is why I'm considering the ciem route, would love to have that "disappeared" feeling wearing custom. But I do worry about the heat buildup. I can sweat quite easily...- Forever8895

CIEM wearing comfort question
Hi all, I plan to make my first CIEM early this year. Had some chat with the local brand here, they pretty much advised me against going the custom route due to 2 main reasons: resell value and wearing comfort. Now let’s focus on the topic of comfort only. I read many posts regarding comparisons...- Forever8895

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
If you plan to have a dap on the go, I would consider the ZX300. If you want the better sound, go for 1A, although I do agree that it’s best to look for a better deal, at 400$ you may score a full box unit. I have both but keep the 1A at home only - YMMV. Prior to getting the 1A for home usage I...- Forever8895

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Wow that’s a steal! I would jump to a 1Z if they would cost only 700! Here the price is still floating around 900 at least, and they are pretty rare these days. I think I’ll take the 1A as I plan to have it modded by Nayparm anyway- Forever8895

And what about drivability? Does Nayparm mod improve on that? People keep saying that the 1A/1Z lacks power to drive things like the Z1R, so I’m worry about multi-driver IEMs- Forever8895

The Continuation Of The Sony Walkman 1Z/1A Thread!
Hi all, I’m considering buying a WM1A/1Z in 2023. Do you think it’s still relevant in this day and age? I only use IEMs, and probably I’ll aim for an endgame pair in the near future (Annihilator/Diva/difficult to drive stuff…). Is it still worth buying the 1A/1Z for 400$/1000$? Between the 2...- Forever8895
