You dont need to stream. Turn on hotspot. Use mpd client to start playing music which is stored on poly sd card. Turn off hotspot and leave music playing.

It's definitely less. It still exists if your source has enough oomph and the song demands it though, i'd call it neutral. I'd also describe gen 2 as boosted.

Seems to be a new feature added recently (I didn't see it in 2.0.0). When restarting poly (stopping and starting later in the day) the mpd playlist you were previously playing can be restarted at the point you left it!

FYI Android has been a joy to use since day 1 (well, since the hardware power on issue was sorted anyway) for this use case, and I have used it daily since then.
