Yes, the Apple in-ear headphones pack massive bass. And I listen to a lot of hip hop and trance music on my iPod too (EQ setting on Electronic). Even if they don't work well during exercising (they keep popping out), they are still very good, imho.

The square model was created so that it could fit inside a dock with speakers basically. IMHO, the square shape is totally uncool looking. that's just me though.
