Right now, I've been searching for some headphones to replace a pair of Panasonic RP-HT227 http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs...00000000005702 headphones that I had to throw out due to normal wear and tear. The problem is, I haven't seen these particular Panasonic's for some time now in various stores!

While I got eBay and Amazon as my last resort, I've been looking into other headphones and purchasing other brands based on their specs (on the back of the boxes).

The headphone names and links below are the ones that I was curious enough to purchase; yet, they were also a waste of my money! None of them had the bass and treble I was looking for, or should I say, they failed to hold up to the expectations of past headphones.

Pioneer SE-M280 Closed Dynamic Stereo Headphones (1200mW)
http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/4.../SE-M280/index.
(I bought these because I thought they had power)

JVC HA-M500 Monitoring Headphone
http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?model...hId=107&page=1
(I bought these because they had good specs, but didn't deliver all the way)

RCA Noise-Canceling Headset, HPNC250
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3661252
(I bought these because I have some old RCA headphones with the same design with crazy bass. I took a gamble with these headphones and lost!)

I know some of them are monitor headphones, but the original Panasonic's that I once had were also monitor headphones, but they sounded amazing through any MP3 player I've used.

Luckily, I have my Apple M9394G/B iPod In-Ear Headphones http://www.amazon.com/Apple-M9394G-B.../dp/B0001AP8CE though. These babies kick serious ass! If I didn't have these headphones, I'd probably go nuts!

Why isn't Panasonic updating their RP-HT227 line? They were cheap and consumer-friendly, imo. They did the job and that's it. I think my best bet is to just go on Amazon.com and buy like 2-3 pairs of them before they're gone forever.

Well, my dad has a cheap Panasonic pair, I dunno how good it compares to what you're looking at. They're RP-HT455, I believe.

But what do you mean, saying that Apple in-ear headphones kick ass? They're nothing special. I'd recommend that you upgrade to something like the Creative EP-630.

Yes, the Apple in-ear headphones pack massive bass. And I listen to a lot of hip hop and trance music on my iPod too (EQ setting on Electronic). Even if they don't work well during exercising (they keep popping out), they are still very good, imho.
