Ibiza would be a bit difficult, but Palma de Mallorca could be a great place to meet. Easy to reach from all europe, cheap flights, a lot of hotels, good weather, beaches, spanish nightlife...

Your best option are some Grados with flats. If you found the Denons bright, bowls probably will be brighter for you.

I think I will recommend the Darth Beyers. They have excellent isolation, very good bass and a nice soundstage. I prefer them to DX1000. In bed I tend to use big cans. I find them easier to remove and put over the bedside table. With IEMs and other small headphones I always end tangled with cables

Volume normalization bad? Why? If you are doing it right it shouldn't be any problem. I'm normalizing with iVolume too. Great software.
