After reading about the new bowls inside out mod, I would like to mention another mod that I tried some time ago: the "Fatty Flats"
. I talked about it in Auriculares.org. It's nothing radical, just a variant of the classic flats using two filler foam strips of about 6mm to move away the driver from the ear. It produces slight changes to the sound without being too different from the normal flats, giving them a little bit more air and tighter bass while preserving its aggressive character.
You can try some variants of this mod, for example different strip thickness or using only one strip in the rear side of the ear. If you really like the normal flats you may find this last one interesting. Lately I'm using it a lot.
