put them in the freezer for 10 minutes before removing the tips and gently twist them off.   works like a charm and i got this info from a shure rep.   wait for them to warm up before playing them as there is a difference in  the storage vs. usage temperature ranges.

Hi, I'm looking for a new IEM for around $200.   I've got my eye on:   Westone 1 ($140) Westone 2 ($250) Shure SE425 ($300) Phonak PFE ($140)   I'm looking for something neutral sounding, that's good all around for most types of music.

They "just" fit my ears. I have large canals apparently, the others require deep insertion like etys. Hold them in place a little longer and wait for the foam to stop crackling/expanding and see if they stay longer.

Put blue(semi-perminent) lock-tite on the threads and screw it on fairly tight.
