Sennheiser IE800 vs. Shure SE846: Which one is superior in terms of price?

Sorry to be reviving an old thread... though I must say it's an excellent thread with a plethora of comparisons which are useful for anyone on the fence. I bought the 846's first and loved them. Then maybe a year or so later invested in the IE800... I had a smile on my face almost instantly...

Thanks! Using my fingernail helped. What are your favourite filters for the SE846? Im starting to enjoy my SE846 again so will start playing around with the filters again. My favourote filter was the black one but this could change. I currently have the blues in

How the hell do you remove the cable from the SE846? No matter what I do, the cable just doesn't come off...my last 846 got damaged as I put too much force into removing the cable and I damaged the connectors. Since receiving my replacement, I want to make sure that I don't damage the connectors...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

I would like to say clearly now that i am not trying to get people to prefer the IE800. I am merely stating that in my opinion it beats the SE846 by a long way. I know that im in the minority but that is my view and i have the right to express that view

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Well i actually prefer the IE800 by a lot. Funny thing is, i bought thr SE846 first as the majority of people preferred the SE846... there was a poll and 65% of people preferred the SE846 so i bought that. And i was very happy with it but i was curious about the IE800 so i bought that a year...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

Whilst removing the cable from the earpieces a piece of metal got stuck in the connector so i couldnt reattach the cable. So they replaced both ear piece under warranty Shure refusee to deal with me directly and insisted i went through the place i bought them from so if i were you id do that...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

Just got my SE846 back from shure, they replaced both earpieces and a cable. Good service. Though i must say, since I'd been listening to my IE800 for two weeks, they sound muffled in comparison to the IE800. The IE800 is so much more detailed... Though ill give my ears some time to adjust then...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Haha, very true. Still though, they didn't have to replace both earpieces and give me another cable.

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Woah, the IE800 is A LOT more detailed than the SE846. Just listened to my SE846 after 2 weeks with the ie800 and it seems muffled in comparison

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Lost an earbud for my IE800's already when i was walking with them in my pocket. Really pinned me off. It is the medium tip that is installed right? As that was the perfect fit for me. Now im using the large in the mean time. It is fairly pricey to replace considering its just an earbud. Aroun...
