How crucial is a stepped attenuator?   The $300 Sheer Audio HA-006+ does not have one, and the builder said that there would be unbalanced volume in each of the channels.   The $500 Sheer Audio HA-006++ (Special Edition) does have one, but an extra $200 is quite a bit.

This appears to quite a bit cheaper compared to Gilmore Lite. However, I can't seem to find any review for this amp. Is this a good amp for HD650 ? Thanks

I want to buy a new AMP undecided between these. Which one of these is the best to drive the ah-d7000, Beyer DT990 600 ohm, senn 800's, senn 650's?    Any thoughts on the little dot VIII SE would also be appreciated.
