Looking to upgrade Denon AH-C551K
Those Denons look like, and the Phonaks. Thanks for the recommendation, guys! I will soon own a Kenwood MediaKeg MG-E504, and hopefully I'll get one that matches the sound output for that player.- Ginko

Looking to upgrade Denon AH-C551K
I bought a Fiio E5, and I could hear a distinct difference in the sound output. My test rig was nothing big - iPhone First Gen's Dock output to the E5 to the Denons. It was great! This might help me to hold off for a while .- Ginko

Looking to upgrade Denon AH-C551K
According to the UE website, the Super.fi 5EB is more for house, and the pro is more for rock. Since I listen to a lot of rock, as opposed to anything else, shouldn't I be considering the pro? And I can't seem to find the Nuforces on Amazon. The genre that I listen to the most is classic...- Ginko

Looking to upgrade Denon AH-C551K
Hello again fellas! My IEM history is as follows: V-Moda Vibes Head Direct RE1 Denon AH-C551K The Vibes got kinda tiring, and I barely use them anymore. The RE1 has too much treble and very little bass, which I didn't like. The Denon has good bass and everything, and I like it quite a...- Ginko

AKG K702 & HD650 Impressions from yet another newbie
Honestly, I'm not a (big) basshead. For me, it's all about the midrange. The little guitar riffs, the voice of the singer, the drum line, the cymbal thrash (I suppose that's more toward the highs). I want to be able to tell apart the instruments, yet at the same time, "taste" the music. I know...- Ginko

AKG K702 & HD650 Impressions from yet another newbie
WesMiaw was gracious enough to have me over on one blazing Sunday early afternoon. The reason? To audition Sennheiser HD650 and AKG K702. I'll mention the music that I used to audition the cans, but chances are that most people would never have listened to any of this (they're all jrock and I've...- Ginko

This sure sounds enticing! If I have someone to accompany me (I'm trying to rope a friend in, since I don't have a car ), I'll most definitely attend. Can't hurt to go to meets and meet people and their cans .- Ginko

Headphone stores near San Jose
Hello all, I took a look at this thread, and now I have a few questions. I have read threads about noise isolating/noise cancelling headphones, and have concluded that different headphones isolate sound for different people. Hence, I'd like to go to a store where I can try out headphones to...- Ginko

I can try to answer any kinds of questions you guys might have. Right now, here's my plan for my portable rig: I currently own a 2G iPhone which I use as my DAP. Although I like it, I'm looking for something better. I went to SonyStyle the other day, and their NWZ-A series is looking good...- Ginko

Vibe Replacement
I really wish the Vibes had better build. I'm looking to replace mine too, and I have some in mind. Yuin OK2 or PK1 (amped), or Grado SR80 (too bad it's an open can) and some others. Let us know what you settle on eventually, and your remarks .- Ginko

Lost my vibes, what new IEMs?
I'm thinking of replacing my vibes too, and if I were you, I'd consider the Yuin PK2. They're $79 or so (if memory serves right). Now I don't know if it suits your music well, so ask around. Hope I helped!- Ginko

Grado SR-80 Question
Before I go check it out (mainly because I'm known for impulse purchases - so I'd like to know as much as possible just in case I do make an impulse buy), how important do you think soundstage is when it comes to playing RPGs (sometimes adventure games. In other words, FPS is not that often...- Ginko

So what exactly is the difference between an SR80 and an SR60? I know I should try them out and come to my own conclusion, but I'm still digging for more info. I'm really on a budget, and cheaper the better . And are there any other retailers other than Amazon that I can buy them from? Oh...- Ginko

Grado SR-80 Question
Hmm, I think I'll get an iBasso D3 - that's going to deplete ALL my budget I have. Damn you, Head-fi! >=[ Lol, I jest. I'll pair 'em to my Vibes (unnecessary?) and get an SR80 in a couple of months or so, when my funds are back up again . God I can see myself getting addicted to this.- Ginko
