    Fixing HD580/600 headband padding?

Mine are flat, so i'm looking to repair them since they're about $14 which seems a little expensive for padding. Any recommendations for padding material to use or anyone with similar experience, e.g. fixing up flat pads?

    Thicker AKG pads?

I feel like this isn't the most ideal solution(blurry pic, sorry): Using old, dry vinyl pads + those costum pads + scotch tape. I tried using quite full/thick velour pads, but they didn't feel thick enough. This is actually quite a comfortable arrangement, and I might want to keep it...

    Upgrade from Zero DAC?

I have a zero DAC/amp, and just bought a dedicated amp. I feel like I might as well upgrade my DAC as well, and sell off my zero. I think an external soundcard/DAC would be best for me (running off a lappy). I've been looking at the emu 0404, but I'm not really sure. My price range is ~$130ish...

    Grilles and k240 sextetts?

I have MP sextetts, I think, and removable grilles. The grilles were pretty annoying, as they hurt my outer ear over time. I'm not too keen on destroying my grilles to regrille them, so I've just removed them entirely. How bad exactly is this for my passive drivers? I haven't heard them crinkle...

Looking for a sound card with very specific dimensions

Hi, I'm currently using a 2503-10u advanced dock with my thinkpad(w500 =D) Lenovo Support & downloads - ThinkPad Advanced Dock - Overview (This might be better: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkPad_Advanced_Dock ) It has a pci-e slot in it (only 1x speed though, I think), and that...

    Ipod 6g LOD question

I'm trying to figure this out, but to much success. Most of what I've found is rather mixed and not exactly very resolute. Anyway, I have an ipod 6g, 80gb, and I notice a slight hiss or jitter of some sort in the background. This is definitely from the ipod, as it's not apparent with the same...

    Upgrade from Zero dac/AMP

Hi, I want to upgrade to a better dac, preferably with a built in headamp. I've been looking at the emu 0404, and also GD compass(but it's expensive D=). I would like to set a limit at ~ $200. It would also be nice if it has a USB interface. I'm not very sure on the disadvantages/advantages...

    Complement to k240 Sextetts?

Hi, I've been using my Sextetts(MP) for quite some time now, and they're very nice I was able to do a deep clean and fix it up, and also do a regrilling mod with help from head-fi, and I'm about to get new pads for them. However, what's a good pair of headphones to complement them? I want...

    upgrade from k271s

I'm going to be selling them soon, even though I really enjoyed them, but I found my k240 sextetts be be more fun. I really want a pair of open headphones, with a similar sound signature I suppose, with better SQ than the sextetts and perhaps soundstage and "accuracy"(if that's the term for...

    Equalizer Software

Does anybody know of an equalizer software that uses "vectors" similar to the warp or pen tool in Photoshop that allows you to basically set points and curves rather than having to individually set the volume of each range of frequencies?

    Amp for AKG 271S

I recently received my AKG 271s, and I have no real experience with amps of any kind. But, I also don't really have any real preference for tube, hybrid or SS; but it would be nice if it came with a DAC(My computer's sound card is not so great, so I'm planning to get a new one during black...
