Hi
I'm interested in an upgrade from my current portable headphones (I really wish I had done more research prior, but I was not exactly into audio back then), I've been using them for about 2 years now =|
Is there anything around a $60 price tag, and delivers an about equal or sound? I've also been interested in the ATH-EW7. Better portability would be very nice, but I do not want earphones or canal phones (they give me tinnitus sometimes).
My source is a 6g 80gb ipod with a fiiO amp.

Thanks in advance

They're often said to be similar, yes, but I don't know if they're identical.

$60 for closed portables is tough. There are some decent portable for a little more: Sennheiser HD280, AKG K81DJ, but reviews are mixed on these cans. There are some good "portables" for a bit more still, but note the quote marks. These - like the ES7, D1001, Q40 - are not as small as the ones I've mentioned. Of these, the ES7 (for >$100) is the best bet. There's a new Audio Technica can (ES7s kid brother, apparently) but we don't know much about that yet. And then there are great portables for a lot more: Sennheiser's HD25 1 IIs come to mind.
