Reply to review by 'agbassano' on item 'JH Audio JH13 Pro Custom In-Ear Monitors'
Thanks for your review! It would be really interesting to know how the JH13s compare to yore Orthos? What did you get to listen to? Why did you select the JH13s over any other offering? Many thanks!- agbassano

New Hifiman HE-5LE planar magnetic headphone
Quote: This was NOT part of the sales literature when I bought my HE-5/EF-5 combo!!! lol Unfortunately, I haven't had much time lately to do much listening but one area that I feel the HE-5's were a bit weak in were it's somewhat "distant" midrange (requiring me to crank up the...- agbassano

New Hifiman HE-5LE planar magnetic headphone
Very curious to hear the LEs... I'm quite happy with the HE-5/EF-5 combo. The amp (and of course source - in my opinion to a lesser degree - with these phones) makes a huge difference. I think it's smart to go to plastic, as wood is such a headache to manufacture etc. Glad I got the original...- agbassano

The amp - EF5 - I would bring along with the headphones the HE5... I'm am just concerned about the source... I don't think I'll make it to my place in Jersey to bring the HD-650's and Perreaux SXH1 (as that would've been even easier than lugging the CL-15 )...- agbassano

Boston or Cali?
I've never lived on the left coast... but San Francisco is absolutely fantastic - I visit friends there pretty frequently. Boston is nice and the corridor from Boston to DC is great for long weekends etc. San Diego is also very nice (cannot think of a better place climate wise), but I just don't...- agbassano

HiFiMAN HE-5 Impressions / Review
The presentation of the HE-5's was definitely different for me too (compared to my HD 650s), but for me it was more a question of getting used to them... The more I listen the more amazed I become with the HE-5's - their clarity and resolution are top notch.- agbassano

HiFiMAN HE-5 Impressions / Review
Nice review Shahrose! Also, nice stand, where'd you source it??? I also prefer the light weight and clamping of my HD650s... I've never been accused of having a big head and in fact, the HE-5's feel a bit heavy and loose on my noggin, the headband doesn't really support the weight - not...- agbassano

Some thoughts about evidence and subjectivity
very good! I can somewhat understand burn in having some effect on drivers in loudspeakers/headphones - as those are actually mechanical devices and we accept that car engines for example can and do benefit from "seating" in. Aside from that... I really just can't get my mind around cables...- agbassano

Creative Zen Touch FIRMWARE Problems
I'm very disappointed with the sound quality out of my Zen Touch. I purchased a 40GB version so i could play uncompressed WAV files with my Shures E5Cs. The E5Cs have always required some equalizer adjustments to sound fantastic, and the highly compressed files on my Sony MD1 (minidisc) with...- agbassano
