Check this review out: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue11/cyber20.htm I used to organize a group buy on it directly from the manufacturer before there was an US distributor. There were over 20 people on board at first and when it's time to collect money only one people went through...

    Need Help

I'm reviewing Impedancer for RKV per Mr. Becker's request. It can drive not only low impedance headphones such as Grado, but also speakers, with 3W output! The only problem is, I sold my RS1 to Odeen due to its relatively high noise floor when matched with RKV. Now I need it again to evaluate...

    Latest Issue of Stereophile

Got the subscription a couple of days ago. October issue lists Stax in Class A. No surprise here. Although a whole bunch of Sony SACDs, carousal or not, are in Class A and Class A+. I'm itching to take the advantage of price match in another thread to upgrade my office CDP.

Question for you lucky R10 owners.

Is R10 noisy w/ your amp? Compared with the noise floor of Senn HD600? Before I go all out to find a R10, the thing concerns me most is its high sensitivity and low impedance. This combo along w/ some negative-feedback design amps like Cary SEI would make noise floor quite high compared w/...

Help: Need your advice on hi-end headphone gears!

I believe the $ on hi-fi should be spent on tuners first as the best investment. Therefore I recently scooped a couple of "super tuners" by Sterephile. One is a MD108. Very very happy even though I don't think it worths that much compared w/ Sony ST-J88B (another "super tuner"'s sister model) I...

    MTV Anniversary; A Poll

Today is the 20th Anniversary for MTV, which IMHO is one of the major sources causing the degradation of music nowadays. People start to see instead of 100% listen. Therefore sex appear seems being more important for some succussful recording "artists" than their Donald Duck voices. I know my...

    A Great Headphone "Stand"

I happenly found a great headphone "stand". A very good female friend of mine moved out of state for new job and left me her favorite hugging monkey. Out of spur, I put my headpone on it and the cans fits perfectly. Plus: 1. it looks very cute! (Should have high SAF.) 2. the soft stuffed...

    A Funny Thing about RKVII/III

Ok, I heard rumors that some RKVs marked w/ "II"s are actually "III"s. My RKV II doesn't pop at firing up but I still think it's II. The thing funny about my unit was started when I began using the second pair of inputs. The sound was MONO! Then I discovered that if I unplug one RCA the first...

    Computer Grade Capacitors

I'm wondering whether those capacitors are worse than regular capacitors by manufacturers like Panasonic. I'm asking this because they seem to be very inexpensive in surplus stores.
