CDP: Oracle CD2500 or Accuphase DP-75V
SACD/DVD-A?: wait until one dies
Tuner: MD108, NOS Marantz 10B, NOS McIntosh MR67 or MR71
Amp: HP or EAR or monsterous Moth
Cans: HP1/RS1 or R10 (no chance to hear it yet)
IC: Harmonic Tech Pro-Silway II through out
Power: PS Audio 300

there's really just a few more things that I want out of my headphone system before I go saving for speakers. I want to clean up the signal mostly, so I'll need a good source (nothing outrageous tho) and an amp with crossfeed (nothign fancy here either). and I'd love a Stax for certain music, but speakers are just one notch higher on the wishlist. on top of the list at the mo is the PortaCorda when it comes out (and i got some $$$ again) followed by a lot of CDs. apart from an amp, audio isn't much of a priorityas it was a few months ago. I'm quite happy with my stuff actually.

my dream headphone is the Stax Omega 2. I've heard everything, and this is what I want. Maybe in fifteen years I'll buy an old used pair for $200.

I would've voted electrostat - but the way Vertigo describes his R10s is EXACTLY what I want in a headphone.....a supremely natural sound.

My personal wish? The Sony SCD-1, Holmes Powell DCT-2, and the Sony MDR-R10s. Ahh and might as well throw in some Tara Labs The ZERO interconnects.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard much super-high-end stuff, so my list is based off of what I've heard.

Source: Linn Sondek CD12
Headphones/Amp: Stax Omega II w/ 007
Interconnects: Tara Labs Zero

I should only need to the accumulated riches of Bill Gates to afford this setup...

Dhwilkin's system is similar to mine. I would like to see Stax comes out with a signature version of the SRM-T2 amp. The T2 amp is impossible to find and Stax Co has no plan of reissuing such amp. If there ever be a T2S, it will most certainly be part of my "dream system".

Oh God I want an Orpheus. I think I said it before, but I'd be perfectly content for the rest of my life if I had one.

I'd trade my Senn HD580s, Grado RS-2s, 4 pairs of Sony 888s, Koss TD-80s, Koss Sportapros, Rega Ear, Sony MZ-R900 MD recorder, Panasonic CT470 Portable CDP, a high-end, all aluminum, Panasonic cassette player with a digital tuner, Sony SRF-40W [world's first walkman], Yamaha R-8 receiver (includes remote and original manual in mint condidtion), and my Acoustic Reasearch 58-B loudspeakers in addition to $500 in cash or money order if someone wants to. I will also make a really nice pair of interconnects for you as well as be overflowed with joy

I AM SERIOUS ABOUT THIS OFFER.
