K-Works cables and cords?
I keep finding reference to their products. Cords and speaker cables but I can’t seem to find a website for this company. Is there one? Are they still in business? I just bought some K Works Empowered 1 meter power cords and I’d like to learn more about them. Thanks!- boead

McAlister Audio
Has anyone ever heard a McAlister Audio product? http://www.mcalisteraudio.com/ He’s a small time guy (possibly just a couple of people) in Canada that makes some nice looking, smart designed tube gear so it appears. I heard of his tube amps here on Head-Fi for use with electrostatic...- boead

Vintage Integrated Amps or Receivers are lost gems.
A friend was astonished at how good his old early 80’s Kyocera Receivers’ headphone section sounded. He has a number of amps and was under the impression that it would take a headphone amp costing several hundred dollars to best it. I have a 80’s Kyocera Receiver myself but I also have a...- boead

description of how the ATH-xx700’s sound
You guys, as usual, were a big help learning about AT clipons and earbuds. I did a search on the ATH-AD700, ATH-A700 and Pro700 SV’s. My impression is that there aren’t many users of them. Why? How do they compare to popular brands like Sennheiser, AKG and Beyer? What models to they...- boead

Are all 24-bit DAC’s up-sampling??
I can’t seem to get a straight answer on this. Since Redbook CD’s are 16-bit, isn’t anything over that just being up-sampled? Some manufacturers call their DAC’s up-sampling, and some do not. So are all 24-bit DAC (specifically Burr Brown’s) up-sampling from a 16-bit Redbook source...- boead

I need some help classifying this vintage turntable. I’ve had it for about 10 years. The gentleman I purchased it from was an Audio Engineer and this was his table for a number of years.
