REVIEW: The Frogbeats C4...an explosively good custom in ear monitor....SERIOUSLY!

I'm tempted by these because it's a UK based company.   However, after reading the "review" which looks and sounds more like an advertisement (please don't take it the wrong way) and other comments by ZimmerX, I still have no idea how these CIEMs sound.   Supposedly it's neutral, but...

REVIEW: The Frogbeats C4...an explosively good custom in ear monitor....SERIOUSLY!

Quote:   I'm currently in the market for some CIEMs and was going to get the UM Mage. Was wondering if you've heard the UM Mage and how does the C4 Compare.

    Home-Made IEMs

I've also used hearing aid tube on mine. Works very well. Forgot which one I used but it was the thick type.

Importing IEM drivers into the UK?

Got my drivers from Mouser UK. They imported the drivers from the states and paid the import tax for them so I didn't have to.   Took 3 days to come via fedex priority.

    Home-Made IEMs

Quote:   It's dead simple. Just use a 365nm UV light source. I've got a torch I used to repair a windscreen chip with, that cured the resin perfect.   If all else fails, my sister has a UV lamp she does her nails with.

    Home-Made IEMs

Update:   Look what came all the way from the States      TWFK + CI22955 + Filters. The TWFK is ****** Tiny.       Also been trying to perfect making some shells. Not quite the standard I wanted.       I was searching through alibaba and found this:  ...

    Home-Made IEMs

Quote:   I don't see whats wrong with acoustic dampers. Ultimate Ears use them in almost all, if not all their custom IEMs to shape the sound. Other custom IEMs just have a capacitor or resistor just for the sake of having a "passive crossover" for marketing as well.

    Home-Made IEMs

I think I'm just gonna keep it simple. No crossovers as my soldering skills are rubbish. As others have said, accoustic dampers should surfice (eg: Sony xba). Just ordered a pair of TWFK and Ci with a grey filter for the rwfk and red for the ci driver.

    Home-Made IEMs

I thought I'd join in on this thread. After all, "How hard can it be?"....   Here are some pictures of a hollow shell I managed to make:       Got a few ideas on the next steps but still unsure.

    UE Triple.fi 10?

Quote: Had the TF10s for 2 years now and recently lost the right earpiece. Loved them so much I bought a new set from amazon, a bonus since they were also on offer.   I mixed the old left earpiece (the old one seems to have a seam where the L/R indicator is) with a freshly opened...

    UE Triple.fi 10?

Nothing wrong with your TF10s from your description. They are dark sounding earphones, some would even say they are boomy or muddy because of their sound signature. They are quite revealing and detailed but just dark. The S and Ts you are hearing might be a badly mastered track.   I use...

    RE0 upgrade - confused!

Just noticed you're from London. If you're not too far from me (SW) I could let you try my pair of B2s and see if it's right for you.

    Best IEM's for around £150?

Play around with the memory wire. It doesn't have to be tightly wrapped around your ears. Just loosely floating for some support.

Brainwavz B2 maybe? £99 from amazon.

Replacing my Ultimate ears triple fi 10 cable..

If you choose the Furutechs. don't get the white version, get the black version instead. White cables look weird connected to the TF10s. Also, I would have got the one with memory wire, as the one without didn't fit my ear shape. That was easily fixed by carefully remolding it with some heat...

Early XMas Present! * Brainwavz B2 *. Impressions and Mini review compared to UE TF10s.

Well after about a day of listening they are both good, but just at different things. But i have to say the TF10s come out on top. The B2s are actually more musical then I anticipated, I was preparing myself for something substantially more analytical. Rock definitely sounds much better on...

    Why are IEMs expensive?

All my mum does is browse the web, check emails and occasionally writes letters and prints them.To her, a Mac 4x the price of a cheap PC is not justified and there is no improvement going form a PC to a Mac. She also uses stock earbuds from her Sony MP3 player and also cannot justify any more...

Early XMas Present! * Brainwavz B2 *. Impressions and Mini review compared to UE TF10s.

Just got to start of with the proper excellent customer support and service at MP4Nation! This is my 3rd Brainwavz earphone to date (I own the Alphas, M1s and now the proud owner of the B2s) and each order has been seamless and smooth all the way through.   I'm not an audiophile and don't...

    Review: Jays D jays

I had these a few years ago in white and orange and they were my first BA IEMs. Not too sure if it was just the white cables, but it was quite stiff and if worn over the ears, they would sometimes pop out and loose seal.   I have to agree with you from what I remember of them, the bass was...

    Triple.Fi 10 Cable replacement

I got the FURUTECH ones. Absolutely no difference in sound quality compared to stock cables (stock black straight cable, black right angled stock and clear stock cable). This is amped and unamped from a iPod 2g and my PC.   No complaints about build quality either. It's lighter, more...

Triple Fi-ers, How do you get a good seal?

The reason you're probably not getting a good seal is because you are reshaping it every time. Find a good shape from the memory wire and don't reshape it ever again.   If you wish to wear it, just "hook" it over your ears and plug them in.   The memory wire is not supposed to hug your...

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread

I use this:   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260903989951   Doesn't change the sound in any way. Made a few cables of my own and can't say I noticed a difference.   If you want to remove the cable, stick your finger nails between the cable connector and the...

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread

If the a151 fit you then so should the TF10s even with small canals. The trick is in getting the right shape with the memory wire so the TF10s are in at the right angle.   Quote:

potential question many new tf10 owners might be asking:

You're taming treble whilst at the same time loosing detail and making everything abit more "muddy" and boomy with foams. That's what I have found in my experiences.   I'd recommend you EQ your DAP first before trying new foamies.   I reckon most fit issues come down to the wire. It's...
