New hard drive, advice?
I disagree. problems in the long run- three to five years- won't be dealt with by your local stores. you will be dealing with the manufacturer's warranty directly. go for cheap sales, but hold out for reputable lines. many decent online shops will also exchange defective hardware for you within...- Csidinim

Worried about college
undergrad degree is the new high school degree. really consider a masters or phd if you are looking for a high tier position. good news is you get to enjoy and work hard towards your personal subject of interest in undergrad. distinguishing marks and awards will get you into a good grad program...- Csidinim

Microsoft Live Search Promotion 25% Off! Don't miss it.
looks dead. what exactly is this? is it a rebate/refund by microsoft for ebay purchases? or is it some sort of ebay credit accruing system? seems convoluted.- Csidinim

Case-fi: Reccomend me a case for my D40 and MBP
for the price, think of it as a very useful designer label purse. seems like it would resemble carrying a boulder by the hip- ie. not ergonomic or posture friendly.- Csidinim

HDR photography
while we are on the subject of raw, what exactly is the difference between in-camera processing and software processing when speaking about exposure. when you take a raw image, cs3 or the camera bundled software will let you adjust the exposure as post process. I assume that is the same thing...- Csidinim

Ordered a Refurbished 17'' Macbook Pro ($2099)
refurbished direct is fine, and as good as new, minus the original box. you even get the same warranty. another bonus for buying previous gen this late into the game is that refurbished models are usually unsold stock- ie. genuinely brand new. and if not, people have received free upgraded parts...- Csidinim

The NIKON Thread (Talk About Nikon Stuff here)
about visible brush- many believe (and performed comparison tests to show) it is simply a nylon bristle brush, flat edge, identical to one that you can purchase at any art store for under 10 bucks. since it is plastic, giving it a few blasts of air with a bulb blower will naturally build a...- Csidinim

Hmmm Black Macbook, or Bottom MacBookPro?
yes, I thought that was obvious. I meant pro gives you [the option for] a matte screen. I find glossy to be unbearable and there is no such choice with blackbook.- Csidinim

Hmmm Black Macbook, or Bottom MacBookPro?
one unbearable difference maybe: pro gives you a matte screen. also, check the clearance store. a bottom end last gen mbp might not run very far from the blackbook. I believe with student discount, it was $1499 from what I remember.- Csidinim

Going Wii Hunting
stores are still constantly receiving new stock- it's just that they sell out quickly. ask what day they receive shipments. typically it will be tuesday or wednesday. be ready on that day to go into the store early or call for a hold if possible. my macbooks was stolen! help me find a new laptop to fill the void!
it seems like you accidentally abandoned the laptop due to neglect, so it wasn't stolen. luckily, the airline seems to have recovered your laptop and is holding it, but you aren't putting in much effort to check and retrieve it. to be honest, it doesn't sound like you're handling the situation...- Csidinim
