Yes and no... yes it's the prototype, no it is not the final design. As to portability, please show me a smaller battery-powered tube-based headphone amplifier. Remember, size isn't everything. BTW... it's Meza not Messa.

Yes, HD-600's come with in a very strudy and attractive box. That would be an excellent place to store them, being careful not to yank on the cord at the headphone end at any time.
