Review by 'phillipwareham' on item 'Superlux HD-681 EVO Black Professional Monitor Headphones'
I just got these yesterday and am impressed enough to write this while drinking my morning coffee, which is quite a compliment. One key point I would make is that while several reviews mention a V-shaped sound signature and strong bass, how noticeable that is will depend on what your previous...- phillipwareham

The JVC HA-S500 thread.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to replace the headband pads? I'm going to replace the ear pads, and the headband one just look a bit gross. Useable, but peeling and dirty.- phillipwareham

Question for Fiio M3 and X1 owners
The M3 does sound worse than I remember the X1 being, but the cheap xiaomi earbuds were at least part of the issue. I mostly used that with the JVC S500 or a pair of quality earbuds. It's confusing why the M3 sounded worse, but I can certainly believe the earbuds were not good enough to showcase...- phillipwareham

Question for Fiio M3 and X1 owners
I just bought a Fiio M3 and felt like it sounded slightly worse than the headphone jack on my Xiaomi 5 phone. Am I crazy, or are phones catching up to the point now where this is realistic? I'm returning the M3 and can't decide if I should buy an X1 instead, or just keep using my phone. ...- phillipwareham

Mine had the same issue. I used it infrequently for more than three weeks without charging it, and then yesterday it cut out with the battery low. I charged it overnight and it still wouldn't start, so I thought it was dead and emailed customer support. I just pressed the little reset button...- phillipwareham

My experience is pretty limited, jaxz. My kit consists of jvc ha500s, xiaomi pistons, and the cheaper iems i was using until recently. as a source, i have a xiaomi 2s phone and laptop with ele dac. the latter ought to provide similar power, or at least adequate to judge. for what it's worth i...- phillipwareham

Have we resolved what it's made from? I assume it's plastic with a metallic finish. My thought was that the transfers and screen protector between them will protect it from scratches well enough that i can avoid the silicon sleeve, which, is more useful than attractive.- phillipwareham

I didn't put it on entirely straight, and one corner is already frayed a little from going in and out of my pocket or not being stuck on right. They'll be cheap to replace and are not meant to last forever. Still like the look! A couple more observations: On the sound, the main thing I'm...- phillipwareham

Didn't I include everything already? Whadaya want pics of? :) The transfers are six pieces. Front, back, and scrawny pieces for the sides. They're marked where you can remove bits over buttons and holes.- phillipwareham

It was 648rmb. It's the same on all taobao stores. The first one put it up for 699 and then immediately lowered it to match the others! That's exactly 100USD or 65GBP. Plus 184rmb for the 64gb microsd card. With that, it doesn't seem quite so cheap, but I'm happy up to now. My phone only had...- phillipwareham

Hi there, I live in Guangzhou, not far from where Fiio are based, so my order from a local Taobao store was very quick. I'll post photos first and then comment on more when I've had a play with it. My new 64gb Kingston class 10 microsd hasn't arrived yet, so I put in an old 2gb card and...- phillipwareham

i live in china, so i've never used one of the agents. i assumed they were easier than that, or people wouldn't use them! it's almost exactly 100usd here in china, so if the target price of 100usd in the usa holds true you would be better off just waiting a week or whatever and buying from a US...- phillipwareham

I just asked one of the sellers if they have stock, and he says their taking pre-orders, and will be able to ship within a week. I guess the stock is on it's way to them. Coming from the factory in guanghou, they should have it 2-3 days later than local stockists.- phillipwareham
