Oh, sorry, in your signature it shows those - I thought those are the headphones you own.

    ATH M50 Mod Thread

I'm always happy to see new posts to old threads - can't stand it when people complain about that. Nice information. WOW those Mr. Speakers pads are crazy expensive for just pads! How do they sound compared to your AKG K340 and Sony MDR-V6 headphones?

Adidas Originals x Monster Headphone !

Sorry, those deals run out fast I guess.  When I first looked they were in stock, but I didn't buy a pair in time myself.  If I see them cheap again I'll post.  I think it was at Staples.  They seem to have the Green/White color for $125 at the moment.

    Viper4Windows

I'm trying it because I want digital correction for my headphones system wide, not just in one music player.  I've the Sonarworks (Headphone correction) .VST plugin correction for a couple of my headphones using a VST wrapper with Foobar2000 and I really want a way to just apply it on a...

Could you perhaps include a link to the particular modding you did?

Am I just blind, why can't I find a place on my "profile" to list what equipment I own?

Well, when you edit your profile there's a "Headphone Inventory" section :)  I do see the "Lists" option at the bottom, but I expected it should be there in your profile details directly, and it is.  Not sure if it was always there or not.

Oldest headphones you currently own and use.

AKG K340   At least 20 years old?       I also have some little red foam pad AIWA "walk man" type headphones from around 1984, and some cheap JVC full size headphones from ~ 1990.   I mostly use my ATH-M50 but just ordered a pair of Sony 7506 so I can have some with less bass...

Decisions, decisions... (Sony MDR-7506 or Audio Technica M50)

Steak, thank you much for your informative direct comparison between the two models.  I read and read and read reviews online and had narrowed my choice down to a few options including the ATH-M50 and Sony MDR some time more than a year ago.  I ended up getting the ATH-M50 and like them fairly...

Adidas Originals x Monster Headphone !

Well, I see that today they're only $99 - haven't found a review yet however, will keep looking...

"Velour" pads vs "leather" pads - one remarkable difference I hadn't seen described, not completely anyway...

I have two pairs of basically the same headphone except one has pleather pads and the other has velour pads.   I know people have said that the velour pads give you a little less bass, and make the headphones sound a little more like "open" headphones, and reduce noise isolation.   But the...

Am I just blind, why can't I find a place on my "profile" to list what equipment I own?

So, I've lurked around here for a while and posted here and there a little.   I got a new pair of headphones today and the first thing I want to do is add it to my "list of gear" on my profile.     But, I don't see where to do that so I'm confused.     There should be a section under my...

I see several options for velour pads on ebay for under $10, just have to find out what size in mm these headphones need...  Or, I may hop over to a fabric store and pick out my own color and try making some pads for myself :D  That'll be interesting...

MHP-839 (Kicker HP541) ear pad replacement?

I just ordered some of these headphones and will see if I can find some other pads to fit...  I do have a pair of Sony MDR-V6 replacement pads I can check (though they are not the velour ones).

    Amp for Audio Technica ATH-AD500's?

Quote:   I would absolutely LOVE it if somebody switched the drivers between AD500 & AD700 and did a public listening test at a show somewhere: "We'd like you to listen to these two different headphones and gives us some feedback as to how the sound compares between them".   If you...

    Amp for Audio Technica ATH-AD500's?

Quote: From a fresh 3rd party's perspective: he is not the one being a "prick" here.  Generally, if someone starts calling names in a thread...   It's actually a very good idea, particularly interesting given we have someone who has both these headphones.  I would very much like to know...

    ATH M50 Mod Thread

Quote:   The sound that comes off the back of the diaphragm bounces around and comes back through (to your ears) as distortion.  Damping material helps reduce that by absorbing some and may also reduce resonances in the cavity.  That undesired sound is one of the reasons some people...

Sennheiser HD280 Pro or Audio Technica ATH-M50?

Quote:   Can anybody else confirm that opinion about the ATH-M50s?  I just read so many glowing reviews and recommendations for them, such as the "best headphones under $500" list by one website, etc.  Previously I had decided to go with the Sony MDR-V6 (only $59 on Amazon ATM).  But, it...

FINALLY! My Ohm MicroWalsh Talls have ARRIVED! (56k WARNING!)

It makes me so happy every time I see another person that loves these speakers, as I'm the one who designed them while I worked with John at Ohm for a couple years. I think when they shine the most is if you listen to a "Holographic" recording made using microphones such as BS-3D microphone...
