Yes mono plug works. TRS is not soldered on one pin, so it also works.

If the Heretic sounded better, then it would be called the Magni+, and there wouldn't be 2 choices.

Ok so after some digging...the Heretic measures better than the Magni+, so I would buy the Magni+ if I had to choose. Measurements<Sound

Well I returned both the SU-10 dac and the Soloist. I hooked back up to the 1984 Technics SU-Z600 and my Asus Xonar STX sound card...and was blown away. It sounds great, and maybe has more bass than the Soloist. I know it's the loudness button that really gives it that full sound. I should have...

Ok so I after giving the SMSL SU-10 some time, I couldn't tell a difference between it and my soundcard. It wasn't the upgrade I had hoped, and so it's going back. I'm going with a Schiit Modius.

The soloist is great, but I'm wondering if I should have saved and got the Jot. I definitely am downgrading from the SMSL SU-10 to the modius.

I'm thinking about downgrading from the Soloist to the Jot. I originally compared the 2 before purchasing the Soloist, but now not sure it's worth it for the price. Any opinions are really welcome.

The Burson amps really need a dedicated button to switch between headphone output to preamp output. On a side note...my usb fan was too loud so I bought one with a variable control. It comes with rubber feet, but they are not grippy. The fan control is to the right of the dac. Loving the amp...
