NEW - Schiit Asgard 2
So I am in the bidness for a pair of open back headphones. I am between Beyerdynamic Dt990 premium and Sennheiser HD650. Now I know Vahalla or Lyr would be an overall better amp for those two cans but i have the A2 and love it. Which would you guys suggest to pair well with A2?- Mattjh90

Amp for SRH840 headphones
Quote: Yea the E07K would be a great purchase. It has a great DAC in it and its portable with plenty of power to drive the headphones. I would recommend that- Mattjh90

Amp for SRH840 headphones
i have SRH840's as well and getting a dedicated amp can really make the cans shine. Check out FiiO they have some portable amp/DACs as well as desktop amps. 40ohm is quite low for needed extra power but its high enough where an amp will improve the headphones. Ive noticed with an amp the bass...- Mattjh90

Quote: hey use windex or a generic form of windex, that really works and yea just stop touching it as much, brush aluminum easily takes oil from hands. I just use a towel or cloth next to me when un plugging or pluggin in something, unfortunately it looks quite bad and can get distracting...- Mattjh90

high impedance...
you could probably get it to work through your m-aduio piece but you dont want too many amplification pieces or units to have a higher impedance on the signal. I would recommend using a USB signal out to a DAC then an digital (RCA) from the DAC to an amp like Magni or your m-audio equipment (if...- Mattjh90

high impedance...
First off what headphones are you looking to purchase? Just an FYI 32ohm headphones are not hard to drive and could easily be driven off your computer or laptop or what have you. High impedance headphones are anything 120ohms and up or 300ohm and up. If higher end audio is something you...- Mattjh90

Quote: Thank you for that, would you recommend the 600ohm version over the 250ohm? They definitely are on my radar for open back headphones, i love my dt770's and was curious how hd650's sound but after looking on the asgard 2 thread, it seems like hd650s pair nicer with some tubes so maybe...- Mattjh90

Quote: I thought at at first because Asgard does run pretty hot but after about 2-3 hours with the amp on the bottom of Modi was only slightly warm. Seems that it doesnt absorb heat that well Quote: ahaha no i only have beyerdynamic dt770 pro 80ohm and Shure SRH840's both sound...- Mattjh90

Are Sol Republic Headphones Worth Buying?
Definitely check out Beyerdynamic Dt 770 pro 80ohm, those would be great for any DJ work and they would blow recent headphone brands out of the water. I would also consider the new Beyerdynamic Dt 1350, from reviews their isolation is suppose to be amazing and they have some excellent sound...- Mattjh90

Received my A2 today and was beyond excited to unbox it and hook it up to my computer. I also use the Schiit Modi as my DAC and love that little guy, really opens up my music and brings detail. First impression - I use Shure SRH840 and Beyerdynamic Dt 770 pro 80 Bass- Loving it...- Mattjh90
