Battle Of The Flagships (58 Headphones Compared)
I've been away from this wonderful hobby for a few years now. Partially, it's because I had my own "R10 moment". For me, it was the Grado HF-2. It makes music simply alive. This monumental review was an absolute pleasure to read, and rekindled my interest in the current state of the...- kdaq

Announcing HeadRoom's All-New Website
First let me say - this is a nice looking site. The front page is a solid launchpad and the overall feel is modern. I appreciate the driving motivation behind the redesign. Appealing to the general masses is a simple business decision, and a sane one - no argument here over moves like...- kdaq

The Grado HF-2 Review/Comparison Thread
Got my HF-2 yesterday - here are some quick impressions. Clearly shares DNA with the HF-1, and clearly an improvement in sound. Bass is mighty powerful, but not tight. I expect this to improve with burn-in. Best "verve" I've heard. Rock sounds like a dream. Perhaps...- kdaq

#5898 received yesterday. Hold on, you won't be disappointed! I recommend neutral solid-state amps with beefy output stages.- kdaq

New Canon G11 reduces resolution from 14.7 to 10 megapixel.
Very nice! Looks to be a solid alternative to the Panasonic LX3 for those who prefer the extra zoom to the LX3's shorter-range but much faster lens (assuming all else being roughly equal).- kdaq

Palm-Pre-Fi
It look me a little while to get into the spirit of things with the UI. It's very different than anything else out there. But that's the point! Once you embrace it and get used to it, you'll find yourself wanting to flick things around on your laptop. I swear, I unconsciously started making a...- kdaq

Who Here is Tempted by The New Olympus E-P1 Micro 4/3 Camera?
The E-P1 is flawed, but amazing. I've been waiting for a reasonably portable "system" camera for quite awhile, but I just can't pull the trigger on this..No built-in flash (for simple fill flash usage) Low-res LCD Boutique price tag That said, this camera is AMAZING as a first go at a new...- kdaq

Nice read beerguy0, thanks! Looks like they didn't cut any corners, there's some solid hardware in there. I've rooted my Pre, and am having fun playing around with it (not for the faint of heart!). SSH daemon works great. Now if only I can find a way to make the Pre an SSH client...- kdaq

A quick word on its audio abilities. The multimedia software and storage capabilities are sadly lacking. That said, listening to music on this thing isn't half bad! Unsurprisingly, its current sourcing capabilities are limited when driving cans directly. Inefficient headphones need not...- kdaq

I'm still woozy from a chain-reaction of sleep deprivation that started this past Saturday. First in line at my local store for a Pre! No regrets in taking the plunge. The multitasking is amazing, the web browser is killer, synergy is slick, and notifications are optimal. R.I.P., Treo...- kdaq

The Grado HF2--It's For Real
I've been on Head-Fi hiatus. To come back and see the HF-2...I almost had a heart attack! THANK YOU Grado and TTVJ. You too, Jude My favored Grado creation (ok, cousin) is the MS-2i. Can any of you fine CanJam attendees offer me some impressions of the HF-2 vs. the MS-2 / SR-325 sound?- kdaq

Boston 2009 City Meet? Interest Check Ahoy
I might be interested in coming if this materialized, but would bring only minimal gear. Methinks that the usual stacks of beautiful gear that we've seen folks bring to past Marlborough meets would be rather cumbersome to haul around on the T On the other hand, having available locations and...- kdaq

Need advice - working for Bose?
*sigh* The world is complicated. If I drove my Saab 9-2x to work at a GM plant, would I have anything to worry about? Perhaps not, as the Swedish company is now owned by the American GM... ...yet the car is actually built on the platform of a Japanese design from Subaru. *sigh* The...- kdaq

Much of the reason I've posted this is to see if anyone steps up with a first- or second- person account of what it's like to work there. I'm not one to make assumptions. I've sent them a resume and expressed interest in discussing an open position. Hopefully I'll get to learn a little...- kdaq
