Tips from a JVC FXC 51 will work too, I had an old pair and use the medium tips. They are great. Not sure if you can get them but the JVCs are on ebay for $24. Not a great solution. The Mee CC51 replacement tips is the best route.

Hope you like the Senns. I think they are a fantastic value. They sound great both with the Aune and my Arrow/iPod Classic duo. Heck, they even sound pretty good straight from the iPhone 5. But still, the amping makes a difference.

I have a new pair of Senn 598s, which are a very good match with the T1 (using the Russian tube right now). I am going to go back and forth with the tubes and see which one i prefer (also have the EB tube as well.

Can't say about metal, but the Trumpets sound much cleaner, clearer to me than the Tributes. Owned both, still love the Trumpets.

Already owned the UE700 and they are pretty decent, but too high for gift level (under $50 is it). So the AKG's are perfect.
