To me, and pretty much every other review I've seen so far, the FH7 is way better than the 5. I've seen a couple of reviews indicating it's a more exciting listen than the Andromeda, and I agree with that. But everyone hears differently, goes without saying.

It happens with every fw update, and it happens with every device that has upgradeable fw. I don't hear a difference.

Don't write off the Arya from your less than ideal audition. I've heard an Empyrean owner has said the Hifiman is better than the Meze after hearing.

I think you're missing the point of this product. It's not meant to replace your existing portable setup, merely a complement when you don't want to lug headphones around and just want some casual entertainment. They're priced accordingly.

We sell these in our shop and whenever people demo them, they are always wowed. And then we tell them the price and it's a bigger wow.

Love this headphone. Never was flavour of the month, or hyped to crap, but it's still a firm solid choice with the passage of time. A true classic.

By your definition then, dsd would be the lowest resolution format there is.

Spec'd power output is good desktop level. Hard to believe they could achieve that within the form factor of the device.
