What are the Dream Hip-Hop and Rap Headphones?
Hey Saren, Would you describe the TH900's as slightly warm? and I'm guessing very natural in comparison to the ED8's? And silverbox, good to know members of head fi still have a sense of humor- maymur8

What are the Dream Hip-Hop and Rap Headphones?
Well then what is the best headphone that exists? And I actually think the best overall headphone, might not be the best hip-hop headphone... The best overall would have to have the right bass and the right time, warmth when it needs it, different characteristics for different genres...- maymur8

What are the Dream Hip-Hop and Rap Headphones?
Hey everyone, I just wanted the community's take on what the best (closed) headphones would be for rap and hip-hop For the longest time I thought it would be the Ultrasone Edition 8's, which I own, but the more time I spend with them the more I question it... The Edition 8's do...- maymur8

I agree with you there, except for the mowing grass part I don't plan on babying these things to the point where I don't use them, but maybe just a bit- maymur8

Hey, just to update I went ahead and actually got some Edition 8's (little less than 700 in mint!) for their portability... I've had them for a few days and originally they sounded a little off, highs were ever so slightly harsh.... It wasn't "smooth" at all... After breaking them in for...- maymur8

I don't think I have those "golden ears" just yet, but I've slowly been working my way up I think they should hold me for at least a year before I start looking around for anything else... On a sidenote any opinions about the Ultrasone Edition 8's? (Just trying to consider all options...- maymur8

I think I'll get the W1000X, but I'll wait for the price to come down from its current $480... Or I'll just lose patience and get them next week- maymur8

Kind of random, but I've just come across a good deal for some Ultrasone Pro 900's for about $300... I know they're amazing for hip-hop, but will they be good/decent for classical? I might just go for them for the price...- maymur8

I'll go try it out (Theres a local store here that has them) but I fear that the upgrade from my current headphones wouldn't be significant enough for me to justify the price... I'll get back with my reaction tonight- maymur8

I tried the D600 and unfortunately its a bit too big for me... At its smallest point the earcups are still lower on my ears rather than centered. I have a HRT Music Streamer Dac for my computer as well, and while the K550's are an option I've listened to them and don't know if they're a...- maymur8

Hey guys, so I'm looking for my next upgrade and am a bit confused about where to go from here. I've more or less trying to upgrade from a Pioneer HDJ-2000 (V-shaped) I listen to hip-hop, classical, pop, just a large range of things, but those 3 genres make up the bulk of my library...- maymur8

Portable warm headphones that don't need an amp
I like the ESW-9's. but they seem a little delicate to me, and the cables are so thin it worries me that I might break them... If I'm honest, I always stayed away from Sony for some reason, but I'll give them a try... Do any of you know where I could find a DT 1350 to try?- maymur8

Portable warm headphones that don't need an amp
Thanks for the reply... Price seems good, went and tried the momentums but they didn't have enough detail, or a nice enough midrange to me.. I've read some good things about the Shure SRH 940's... Any idea about them?- maymur8
