Yeah, I tossed my stickers in the trash. It's too pretty to cover up! Has anyone heard anything yet about a stacking kit for this little beauty? There's really not a good place to put a standard band that doesn't interfere with a button or the screen in any way.- mawoca

Yes, it reads tags just fine. Putting music on it is simply a drag and drop affair. When I plug mine into my computer it basically goes into "disc mode" and appears on my computer as a removable disk. Note that you can't play music while it is transferring music. If you fiddle with the buttons...- mawoca

Grado e Series
Yup, my newly acquired 225e's drivers have vent holes in the exact same spot. Where they're located surprises me a little bit... I figured the vent holes should be spaced exactly opposite from each other around the driver and not so close together. I vented my SR60i's drivers as such, but...- mawoca

The Millett Starving Student Tube Thread.
I figured this would be a good thread to drag back into existence but hijack into 12AU7 territory. My Starving Student is currently using a pair of 50s vintage RCA long black plate 12AU7s that I got for dirt cheap on eBay. I really like the way the amp sounds but I feel like it can do better...- mawoca

Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp
Last Thursday at about 10pm CST, another 12AU7 variant Millett Starving Student was born! I'm thrilled to say that the first power-on went flawlessly, all systems go right out of the gate with nothing to troubleshoot! Dead quiet too, omg. After a weekend of off and on burn in, this thing...- mawoca

The GrubDAC
Another GrubDAC is alive and well in this world! Aside from a couple of issues that were resolved very quickly by reading through this thread, the build went fast and was a ton of fun! And of course the sound is the ultimate reward, as this blows my little ELE EL-D01 away. Right now I have it...- mawoca

Need advice on first CMoy
That is a great thread :) Fred was nice enough to answer some questions I had and I placed an order at Mouser with a fair amount of confidence so now I just need to grab some protoboard from Radio Shack and wait impatiently for a few days.- mawoca

Need advice on first CMoy
Here's a link to Fred's assembly instructions for his DIY RA-1 cmoy kit (I hope he doesn't mind). I think it makes enough sense to me that I can build my own off of that. And here's a link to the kit itself. I would just order the kit with the PCB but I want to make my own layout and learn. It...- mawoca

Need advice on first CMoy
I'm about to order parts for my first DIY CMoy and I have a few questions before I pull the trigger on my Mouser BOM. I'm going mainly off of the Tangent tutorial along with all of the suggested parts upgrades I've found by searching through the forums and looking the JDS CMoyBB parts list. I'm...- mawoca

C&C BH Portable Headphone Amp (80 Hours from a Single Charge!) [Buyer Review]
Does anyone think that the C&C BH would pair well with a pair of Grado SR60i's and a Rockbox'd iPod Video 5.5? Yes I realize the Grados do just fine without an amp but I'm using an E11 right now between the iPod and the SR60's and the E11 and I love the extra detail the E11 brings out and the...- mawoca

Headphone Amps
For many headphones you can survive without an amp, but once you add an amp in between your iPhone and your headphones you won't want to go without it.- mawoca

The discovery thread!
I ordered my black ELE DAC from travelinwind on Dec 1st and got it on the 12th. No problems with it at all. It's everything I'd hoped it would be and more, especially since it's actually my first DAC! I'm pairing it with my E11 and Grado SR60s. I do find it to be somewhat bright without the amp...- mawoca

Headphone Sightings 2
Longtime lurker, first time poster! (Yes, my wallet is already weeping) In downtown Minneapolis in the past two months I've seen two pairs of Grado SR60i's, two ATH-M50s (one of the Grados and M50s were even on the same bus), I've seen a pair of the Philips Cityscape Downtowns in the...- mawoca
