I prefer the more traditional Dubstep. To me it's kind of a dirty word because the only time I hear it is when someone is actually referring to BroStep. Ital Tek probably tops my list for dubstep.

For producing music, I would go with some Sony MDR-V6 / Shure SRH440's. For DJ'ing, idk. Maybe some Koss ProDJ100's or Pioneer HDJ500 (although I've never listened...
