FiiO E6 Mod (Less muddy sound)

This sounds like a horrendous waste of money and time. This how to definitely needs some cleaning up, but I don't think the e6 is worth even that anymore. By the way, I don't remember why this mod worked, just that it did slightly improve the sound, especially at higher output. I threw my e6...

    Need "fun" durable headphones.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help. I ordered the Koss Tony Bennett's from amazon for $65, mainly because I have never heard of tuesday morning and I have amazon prime (faster shipping is always nice).

    Need "fun" durable headphones.

Quote: Think I might be sold on the bennett's after reading that thread (even though I don't know who tony bennett is.) I guess I can 'try' keeping them in the case. Hope they sound good on the pa2v2.

    Need "fun" durable headphones.

Sorry I've been absent from this thread. I am still looking for headphones though. My Sony's hinge is now in complete pieces and they are pretty much made of electrical tape now. Are those tony bennet's circumaural or on-ear? Any good pads for them (fell in love with velour on my sony's)?

Quote: No removable cable and I hate those pads (can't find any velour ones for them).

    Need "fun" durable headphones.

Quote:   Aren't those on ear (not full size)?   Quote:   I prefer not to EQ, but I'll check them out.   Quote:   Look good but way over budget.     None of those have a removable cable (except the phillips but it has that weird one that is hard to find in good...

    Need "fun" durable headphones.

My Panasonic HTF600s have fallen to pieces and my MDR 7506s are soon to follow (duck-taped together), so I'm in the market for another pair of full size, closed headphones. I don't want something super analytical like my MDRs, but I want something durable (unlike the Panasonics *although they...

Ipod classic - rockbox - its happening.

Quote:   Yeah, I just don't want to install itunes to uninstall it. I'm pretty sure it controls the iPod, so it probably won't work. Thanks for the help though. I'll definitely check out those builds when I get a chance.

Ipod classic - rockbox - its happening.

Quote: Would it work with my car stereo? Also, where do you get these builds since a search on google and the forums didn't give me much.

Galaxy Nexus and E17, will it work?

So far this is what I've done with my Galaxy Nexus     I borrowed a FiiO e17 and bought an e7 to try out with Cyanogen and Franco Kernel on my nexus. The e17 didn't work, but was recognized by the device. The e7 worked but it had stutters so I returned it. USB OTG is working since I use a...

Ipod classic - rockbox - its happening.

I've only recently dug out my ipod classic again since I got a new headunit for my car and want to use my ipod again. I had rockbox but I'm curious as to whether it supports accessories yet or not. Also what are these aroldan builds?

Galaxy Nexus and E17, will it work?

Quote: I thought cyanogen mod included the USB_AUDIO "drivers" already, although I'm not an android developer nor do I know too much about the insides of the OS. Does this mean that DACs that require more power can be used? Sorry my limited knowledge of android prevents me from...

Galaxy Nexus and E17, will it work?

Well I suppose the general consensus is "nope". It's good to hear that the headphone out is alright on the nexus, if it can power low impedance cans and IEMs well then I might not even need a dac/amp. Although it is a clunky solution, what about using the an MHL to HDMI adapter than using a...

Galaxy Nexus and E17, will it work?

Thank you for the reply. Just curious is the 100mAh limit the iPad's unique specification or is that just a USB spec?

Galaxy Nexus and E17, will it work?

I'm going to be upgraded my phone to a galaxy nexus and I'm putting sound quality as a priority since I want to ditch my iPod. The FiiO E17 has dropped enough that I can easily pick one up and since the Galaxy Nexus supports usb OTG, I can only assume that it will work. Does anyone have any...

Help me choose which headphones to buy, entry level.

Sorry that I'm not very creative, but the Panasonic HTF-600s is always a good choice.

    Micro HDMI to audio line-out

I'm planning on using my Blackberry Playbook as my portable DJ console once the Pacemaker software is released. Anyways, I've been searching for some way to get a lineout signal from the playbook's HDMI port, but haven't had much luck. This is the closest thing I've found so far, but this would...

    Would I appreciate a FiiO E17?

Quote:   Yes I am well aware of this, I've spent hours trying to figure out how to get a digital signal from my iPod cheaply, but sadly that isn't really possible without something as big as my PC anyways. I know the E17 would work, I just want to know if it's worth it and if I would...

    Would I appreciate a FiiO E17?

Just to put things into perspective for you, currently I enjoy listening to my iPod Classic vs. my PC, which is a bit of a let down.

FiiO E6 Mod (Less muddy sound)

Quote: Well there wasn't any science behind this, I was bored while waiting for my PA2V2 to arrive so I opened up the FiiO. To my eyes the shielding on the wires looked really bad and the battery was enclosed in some cheap insulation material. It went from being on top of the amplification...

    Would I appreciate a FiiO E17?

I have never owned any "audiophile" DAC. The time that the sound connection broke on my PC and I had to install a sound card from 03 was probably the closest I ever got.    A while back I posted a thread asking if I would really appreciate good headphones, and I do, so now I'm wondering if I...

FiiO E6 Mod (Less muddy sound)

For anything internal in the psp, hot glue would probably be preferable to electrical tape. Just pm or email the pictures to me and I will add them to this thread in order to avoid repeat threads.

FiiO E6 Mod (Less muddy sound)

Quote: Please, Please don't do that. The E6 costs $25, the iMod costs $500. You kind of have me worried now cause all I can think of is some really high quality cabling getting ruined.       Quote: It's just a battery, I actually considered changing it out for a D battery...
