Akg K400
Guys, instead of posting such a specialized item in the "For Sale" section, I though I'd give those who follow this thread first crack. I have a pair of AKG K400's that I'm thinking about selling. I'm the original owner and I purchased them sometime in the 90's (I think mid-90's)...- seslwr

Future Sonics Atrio MG7 Review and Appreciation thread
I sent an e-mail to Eric and received a reply back in a few minutes. Like "rank", he's sending out another unit to me today (they already sent me a UPS tracking #). It appears that there was a glitch in their system and some U.S. orders got shipped out from Canada. Those orders are probably...- seslwr

Future Sonics Atrio MG7 Review and Appreciation thread
Quote: Sure, rub it in. Still haven't received mine yet. Shipped on the 3rd (also ordered from Atrio.me). The really sad part is that I can drive to Atrio's door in about 7 hours. I've contacted them via their website a couple of times for a status and have received no response...- seslwr

As much as people bash Beats, I think they're a welcome addition to the industry. Why? Because people no longer think spending a few hundred dollars for headphones is crazy. After the iPod came out, people refused to buy full-size headphones at all because earbuds were the rage. Further, no...- seslwr

Audioengine D1
For those with Macs, remember to set the device to 24-bit/96KHz. Here's how (from Audioengine's site): How do I make sure that the D1 DAC is set to 24-bit/96KHz audio? If using a Mac, open the Audio MIDI Setup utility in Applications->Utilities, choose "Audioengine D1" under audio...- seslwr

Audioengine A2 bass is problematic with classical piano
The A2's are great for near field listening (inside 5 feet). I have the A2's w/ the Audioengine D1 DAC. What a pairing! The DAC really smooths out a lot of the bass muddiness. For the muddiness that's left over, I just use the equalizer in iTunes to reduce it. I think the reason so many...- seslwr

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Looking for another pair of headphones to complement my Sennheiser HD-600's. While I like the HD-600's for their detail and midrange, I'm looking for another set of cans that is more lively. Recently, I've been becoming more and more of a bass head *gasp*. I'm not a "Beats" kind of bass head...- seslwr

Grado SR100.
White lettering. From what I've read though, some of the SR100's w/ white lettering got the HP1000 drivers because Grado ran out of their standard driver during production. Does anyone know how to tell the difference?- seslwr

Grado SR100.
Quote: Bumping an old thread as there's very little information on the SR100's available online. I have a pair of SR100's that I purchased from a Grado AD around 1994. I haven't used them much recently. However, if someone has a specific question regarding the SR100's, maybe I...- seslwr

Fiio E9, need help/opinion
I initially purchased the e7/e9 combo to use with my HD600's. After much A/B testing, I really didn't hear much of a difference when using the e9 with or without the e7 docked. FWIW, I have the e9 hooked up to an iMac. Does anyone else get this same impression?- seslwr

Why Aren't Headphone Amps Mainstream?
I think the simple answer to this question is that headphones have evolved into a portable product. Ever since the advent of the Walkman, headphones have been all about portability. Having additional components (i.e. amps) counters the purpose of headphones for many people. Most people just...- seslwr
