Man these settings sound great G.M.! I turned Mach3 down to 3 (5 was too much bass for my ears) and turned on MPE (improved soundstage & imaging like cardozo said!). My new fav. settings! Quote:- sdhobbs

Sweet setup! Do your IEM's & headphones benefit from the Arrow amp? (Specifically your SM3 and T50P) Also how does the T50P compare in sound to your SM3? I love the sound of my SM3 and was wondering if i'd like the T50P. Thanks! Quote:- sdhobbs

Perfect! I understand what increasing the level does, and you already explained wide/normal/narrow, but what about changing the actual frequency (80hz,500hz,etc.)? Does it have the same effect as turning up the level, higher you go the more boost? Thank you so much, so close to undertanding...- sdhobbs

Cowon J3 - Personal User EQ Settings
Quote: I too could use some schooling on how to adjust the 5 band freq. in the J3. For example i'm using fallingreason's eq settings with all enhancements turned off: 80 - Wide - 0 500 - Wide - 0 1.1k - Narrow - 1 4.1k - Wide - 2 13k - Normal - 2 If I wanted a little...- sdhobbs

Cool. Your settings even though meant for Shure SE530 sound better with my SM3's than other settings i've tried from fellow S9/J3 + SM3 owners, which is why i'll be saving them. fallingreason's settings just suite my SM3's better. This is a great thread, especially for me who is clueless when...- sdhobbs

Cowon J3 - Personal User EQ Settings
What would I do without this forum! Of course your are right fallingreason. I tried your eq settings below with all enhancements turned off and was rewarded with a clean natural sound with just enough treble to brighten up my dark SM3's. All my music is FLAC ripped with EAC from the original...- sdhobbs

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
Dfkt, I'm looking into the J3 for my SM3's. I find the SM3's a little on the warm side and was looking for a neutral DAP for them. What are your thoughts on this pairing? Do the Sm3's sound great with the J3? On a different note, I've also been reading on this thread that the Arrow amp...- sdhobbs

Earsonics SM3 Appreciation Thread - Third Time is a Charm?
What about the Cowon J3? Anyone know if the SM3 pairs up well with it? I'm looking for a DAP that is neutral sounding not warm since Sm3 is already on the warm side. My iPhone ->Fiio E7 works but was looking for a step up in sound.- sdhobbs

Review by 'sdhobbs' on item 'FiiO E7 USB DAC and Portable Headphone Amplifier'
I Love this product! I currently use it at work and home as a USB DAC for my computer. I aslo use it on the go with my iphone via a Fiio's LOD3 cable. It sounds great from all my sources! I currently only use it with my Earsonic SM3's IEM's. But what's so cool is that in the future if I...- sdhobbs

Review by 'sdhobbs' on item 'EarSonics SM3 Universal Fit IEM'
After countless hrs of research (mainly on this forum) I took the plunge and bought myself Earsonic SM3’s! Here is my review. Finish: The SM3’s body is made of plastic which makes it very light but also seems fragile. The cable is nice and strong, doesn’t tangle and is also...- sdhobbs

E7 and some IEMs? Are there some that don't work well?
I own both E7 and SM3. I like the way the SM3's sound with the E7. E7 is completely quiet, no hissing. I always prefer using the E7 instead of going directly into my iphone or computer, the sound is fuller and punchier, I don't even EQ my source when i'm plugged into the E7. I had some...- sdhobbs

Earsonics SM3 for small ears?
I'm really wanting to try these IEM's but I'm worried that they may be uncomfortable for me. I've never tried IEM's that actually sit inside the ear. I have Monster Turbine pro golds, I've had Klipsch S4's. Both are comfortable but they stick out of the ear so no problem. Looking at the...- sdhobbs

Call for Reviews: Monster Turbine Pro Gold/Copper and Shure SE 425 from a Hip-Hip Fan's Perspective
Cable is very sturdy and thick. These headphones are very well built overall. Plus Monster has a lifetime warranty for one time replacement. Mine don't have control talk feature. Don't know if they make a version with it.- sdhobbs

Call for Reviews: Monster Turbine Pro Gold/Copper and Shure SE 425 from a Hip-Hip Fan's Perspective
I just picked up the MTP Gold and I think they are insane for hip-hop. The bass is deep and clean, it hits just like a sub. A good fit is crucial to hear the best bass. They come with so many different tips which is great. Luckily one of the tips worked perfectly for me, out of like 10...- sdhobbs
