Cayin Audio HA-1A Tube Rolling
I'm back to try and resurrect this zombie thread :) I've been using this amp for nearly 2 years, and I'm in love with the sound. Recently, on a whim, I connected the speaker terminals on the back to my Monitor Audio Studio speakers and couldn't believe what I heard. It sounded better than any...- samtheman

New tube amp: the Cayin HA-1A MK2
Hi everyone! I'm reposting this here as the old Cayin HA-1A MK1 is very old: My little dott MKIII died recently and I replaced it with the Ha-1A MK1. I have a fair few tubes from my little dott amp (some rather expensive by my standards) and I'm wondering if any of them can be used with the...- samtheman

TURNTABLE SETUP Questions thread - don't start a new thread, ASK YOUR QUESTION HERE!
Hello everyone. I have recently got back into Vinyl after a break of over 20 years. Initially I was disappointed with the sound but after realizing I needed a decent turntable and Phono-amp to get good sound, I am enjoying the experience immensely. I do however have a question about VTA setup...- samtheman

Great tip - thank you. Just gave it a try; taped up the bottom half. A nice bass boost while retaining the mid clarity and high frequencies. Great stuff!- samtheman

Thanks for the clarification. Is there any chance you could provide a photo or drawing? I'm having trouble visualising. My dynamat arrived yesterday and I'm looking forwards to trying this with an open mind. Many thanks.- samtheman

ladies and Gentlemen......... It is with great sadness and much self anger that I must tell you the news that I have just destroyed one of my T90 drivers! Like a fool I was trying to solder a new cable and I have damaged the left driver beyond repair. These headphones were my pride and...- samtheman

Agreed - I was referring to an earlier post where I did highlight the need to have the vacuum on a very low setting etc. Anyway - hope you get it sorted. My vote would be to buy another set of T90s - I think they are wonderful if the sound signature suits you.- samtheman

Well since it improved them a little - you could try giving the foam material a really good vacuum/clean before sending them back. Often it's little hairs that work there way through the foam to the driver. The fact that it helped a little seems a hopeful sign. Good luck- samtheman

Just to emphasis - make sure the vacuum is on a LOW setting. If your vacuum cant be adjusted - hold it a safe distance away. The last thing you want to do is suck the material out :)- samtheman

Your welcome. First thing I'd try is to simply remove the earpads and use a vacuum on gentle setting to clean the foam/material that sits on top of the driver. That might do the trick on it's own. Otherwise, you will need to remove the remaining plastic inner ring with a small...- samtheman

Hi Ernst, Not sure if this will help but worth a shot. I've had my T90s for 2 years and love them. 6 months ago I noticed the right cup sounded low in volume and was distorting. I feared the worst and started looking into a replacement driver etc. Turned out it was dirt/hair on the...- samtheman

Your more than welcome. Hope you get them soon :) Continuing to love these headphones: the bass really is something special! My portable rig now gives me something my home set-up cant (T90s and HD650s). Truth be told the Beyers have made the 650 almost unlistenable for me. Looking...- samtheman

New Beyer DT1350
Just received my dt1350s from Amazon.com. got a great seal strait away and the base was the first thing to hit me. Deep and powerful and much more immersive than my hd25s. Very surprised. A little eq needed for me to boost the top end as I love my treble and they sound a little too warm...- samtheman
